I had must first ever one this morning!
I took off from EGPH in my B737 and as soon as my wheels left the runway there was a huge bang and the starboard engines died. The
co-pilot informed me that we had a "flame-out."
I declared an emergency, turned around, and landed at EGPH again, safely
The post flight report stated that it was a bird strike that caused the problem.
One thing though; I was flying IFR, so in order to get permission to re-land at EGPH I cancelled the IFR flight plan, putting me into VFR. I
then called up EGPH tower and asked to land. They told me the airport was in IFR only and refused me permission to land!!! I had one
engine only, the other dead due to the fire!!!! How can they tell me no!? (I realise this is a limitation with FS9 and not FSP).
I told them to poke it where the sun does not shine, I'm coming in!!!
