Getting CTD FSX STEAM. Usually happens when hovering over the menu bar

Unfortunately disabling UAC completley did not seem to solve the crashes. I am still getting the same error and its usually triggered using the drop-down menu. Also, a rather annoying side effect of using the steam edition is steam does not allow you to change the root folder, or have 2 separate steam directories on c. I have another ssd, which was leftover from my old computer but it's slightly slower but nowhere near as bad as my external. I am reinstalling currently on my backup ssd and hopefully this will help. also i am avoiding every addon for now besides payware.
