After not getting much help on here, I was able to finally figure out a solution.
The problem here is that the audio files in question were only 32kbps in quality. You can view this by right clicking and viewing file properties, then the Details tab.
The solution is to convert the files to a higher bitrate. If you install Audacity (which is free) and load the audio file in question, you can then export it as a WAV. When exporting, make sure to first select "Other uncompressed files" from the "Save as Type" dropdown. Then under "Format Options", select WAV (Microsoft) for Header, and Unsigned 8-bit PCM for Encoding.
This will end up saving the .wav audio file under the same quality rate (64kbps) as the default voice pack audio files. Hope this helps someone. Enjoy!
