Hi UK-1133
I'm 18 and near completion of my JAA PPL at Fenland (EGCL). At the age of 14 I can remember wanting to do my PPL badly. I thoroughly recommend you
concentrate on your GCSE's at this time as a career in aviation is proving more and more difficult due to this economic crisis. Certainly in the UK
competition for scholarships for CPL's and Frozen ATPL's is fierce and my instructor informs me the only way of obtaining these licenses right now is
through paying out of your own pocket. I started flying gliders at 15 at a local gliding club. I worked for them on the ground and in return they
would give me lessons.
I've clocked 32 hours in a Puchaz glider and ironically, upon checking my log book, 32 hours in a Cessna 152. I advise you visit your looking flying
club and ask for any advice concerning the PPL.
I hope it goes ok for you!
