Well, the cop' mainly bother me with useless whinning and by times save my a$$ with some usefull warnings. So... OK, he can stay in
the cockpit
I was also until recently a staunch "do it yourself" partisan. I love my Boeings 727 an 707 also for this reason. I have to tune my radios,
set the courses, headings taking car about wind correction, watchout to stop climb or descent at decided altitude etc.
Now, since I have the PSS A340 and the F1 ATR 72, I become a bit leazy, shame on me, I enjoy letting "George" doing the job while I
play around outside the plane for pics or chat with the fellows flying in network
