It's going to be hard to mimic a turbine engine in a house, but how about this:
If you are just flying props then just use the plank of wood with 1, 2 or 4 fans bolted onto it.
If you are using a turbine aircraft, keep the same setup but place a bar of chocolate or sweets just behind one of the fans. When the victim, I mean
passenger, gets sucked in towards the chocolate, then BANG, massive lacerations and a damaged "turbine".
Just a word of warning though: if it's your wife, fiance or girlfriend don't, under any circumstances, shout "Bird strike!" at this point.
