Hey everyone. Does anyone know of a way where you can have something like the progressive taxi, but working in the sky, so it can
guide you to your destination, and you can just follow the trail? I'm looking for something where the lines or trail will appear right on the
screen, I really need something like this, if you know of any, please tell me.
Thanks!
Hi Ryan,
Sorry for being a smart a__ but yes, your instruments. If you are flying between VOR/NDB it's a simple matter of tracking radials. If not, you
can use the GPS; I'm not a big fan but it works. That's your horizontal track. For your vertical, look at your altimeter. Set your altitude and
think of your box as +-200' if flying VFR and +-100' if flying IFR.
I personnally like flying IFR more then VFR because your Navaids will guide you straight to the airport (actually right to the threshold of the runway in most cases. Flying IFR is tricky but once you know how to do it properly, it works wonders. The Fs2004 lessons are pretty good for this. With some practice, you will eventually be able to do a direct from one radial/DME to another radial/DME without the GPS.
