It took me well over three years to get my AI to that stage!

The utility doesn't crash for me but it only shows a fraction of my non-AI planes (after I filter all AI planes using the config file). I suppose it
just stops after having scanned 2048 fltsim entries?

Edit: I suppose it would be enough if that 2048 limit would only count for planes that made it through the filter, i doubt very many people have more than 2000 flyable planes on their system...

But speaking of browsing aircraft, I'm a little tired of browsing all paints of a particular aircraft when I shop for a new one just to find that one
cheap 7000+ hours 100% aeroplane that I can afford. Would it be possible to add the current prices for the different airline companies in FSPassengers
to this tool? That would make shopping for new aircraft *so* much easier and faster...

Alternatively you could change FSPassenger's model of actually buying an aircraft in a fixed livery to buying an aircraft in any liverly and charging
extra for repainting into another livery. Currently there are different prices for different liveries of the same plane, that doesn't really make
sense when you think about it...

Hm..I did a search within Explorer to find that I have 983 aircraft.cfg files in total within my aircraft folder, so the number of fltsim entries
may well exceed 2048, and by quite a margin. Also, I've previously run Markus Brunner's contrails utility which adds a backup aircraft.cfg
file for each aircraft, i.e. the 'without_contrails_aircraft.cfg' files, which I guess the FSP aircraft browser utility would have scanned as well?

Adding to this, there are also 'aircraft.cfg.BAK' files that were brought up in the results but I cant remember exactly why these were
generated in the first place. Maybe these also have an effect on the tool's scanning process?

My Mooney also shows (in LBS) as 2189, but is a C3. A lockheed vega is showing as 2565 but is rank C0.

Sorry I will not do that, company doesn't have any habit to repaint their aircraft beetween each flight
so two livery ARE two different aircraft... If I do that I'll have to charge your company the repaint
at each flight you change the livery... so this is not avantageous and a lot programming work
just to allow people to repaint their aircraft.

I mean cool you've paid 400'000 US$ to repaint an aircraft ... but you'd still have to pay again
if you want to use the previous livery... so virtually you hown still the same aircraft and need to
pay a lot each time you want to play with another livery.

Thanks for bearing with me on this Dan, but unfortunately the same thing happens again. Apart from what I suggested in my last post I
just cannot figure out why it keeps crashing. It's quite frustrating, because as no-one else has had a similar problem it kind of makes the
problem a lot harder to pinpoint...

Also, it could be caused by one of a whole range of things that may just relate to my specific system configuration. I just don't know...

Anyway, all I can say is that to avoid both of us pulling our hair out, we may just have to assume the latter possibility, and that there isn't a
problem with your application itself, unless someone else starts having the same problem.

FsP search for "Engine." keyword as in "Engine.0 =" "Engine.1=" etc etc...

But the description of this aircraft show: "...plane powered by a Porsche engine. " two time. hence the MEP.

I'll correct that...

Nick I'm really annoyed, first I like as much as possible to make proof program and I
usually like the challenge of bug... also your problem might happen on other computer as well
(even 35 tester didn't show all FsP bugs)
On another side this is a minor application and debugging it could take a long time
that will not be dedicated to FsP upgrade....

Howewer a bit of debugging can't harm...are ready on your side to test some versions
that I send you by mail ? (putting online is more longer)

if yes send me a short mail that recall this subject or your forum nickname
and I'll send you differents version with some debug text so I can locate were and why it crash...

Currently, for each particular aircraft in a particular livery, there are maybe 3-5 "sellers". Some of the planes are new and expensive, some already
have accumulated a few thousand hours and are cheaper. Every so often there are planes that already have accumulated a lot of hours (7000+ usually)
and so they are very cheap, for example $700000 for a DC-3.

Since there is no conceivable disadvantage for flying very old planes (at least I haven't found any), I'm always on the lookout for these planes as I
wouldn't have enough cash to buy the biggest planes for my rank otherwise. I bought said DC-3 pretty early on in the career and quickly came to
riches, allowing me swiftly progress to a Dash8, ERJ-145 and DC-9 when i reached the necessary ranks.

Flying the DC-3 is fun by the way, which is something I only came to realise after I was "forced" to fly it because of FSPassengers. Thanks for that!

Unfortunately the probability of a particular aircraft containing such an extra cheap offer is quite low, so I have to browse all my DC-9 repaints to
find a cheap one for example, and even then I often don't. This is very very boring. Why are there different prices for the same aircraft type with
different liveries? I think it would be better to have the same offers for all repaints of a plane type.

I mean cool you've paid 400'000 US$ to repaint an aircraft ... but you'd still have to pay again
if you want to use the previous livery... so virtually you hown still the same aircraft and need to
pay a lot each time you want to play with another livery.

You could have multiple aircraft of the same type, all painted in different liveries, just as you do now. All you'd have to change in the code is to
have the same prices for all liveries of the same aircraft type. The user then could chose one livery when he buys a plane of that type (or perhaps
it comes in a random livery). Later, the user can repaint the aircraft into any other livery for a fee, under the condition that he doesn't own that
aircraft type in the new livery already. (That condition is already in your code, currently it prevents the user from buying the same aircraft twice)

The important part is that the user should not have to browse all of his 40 PMDG 747-400 repaints just to find the one cheap repaint with 7000+ hours.
That takes ages, is no fun and there is absolutely no point to it, game wise. Currently you pretty much HAVE to do it though if you want to be able to
afford the "correct" planes for your rank (if you start out with the $500k companys scenario).
