And for going in a closest position of center of airport, people must have FSNav, and many advanced add-ons haven't default GPS gauge.. Before opening this 3D I've tried all solutions to work around this problem without software correction: no way; you must forget the problem deactivating the penalty, one more penalty All softwares that compare the position with a database of coordinates have not errors They don't like this idea? They don't accept that can be a diffrerent way? no problem, but I haven't read that they are evalutating a way to do it,instead the are saying that this is not a bug, then:they don't say tha this not happens, but this error is about 3% of airport and so on Post Edited ( 06-17-06 12:15 )

so your saying, whereever you park at VABB, it does not say your closest to VABB?

so here we are flight fans, Drew sitting at a total randomly selected gate at VABB airport.....
![]() ahhhhh, dont i look pretty in my little yellow plane ![]() i next jump into the cockpit, and have a look at my gps, and click the nrst button, I also invite a passenger aboard - Welcome aboard mr Magic solution provider. Okay, time to jump in here.
![]() I'm actually glad to have found this discussion because I've been working on this for my other addon, using lat/lon coords and a short distance away (in both directions). Anyway, I thought I was all set until I saw that image over PANC. THANKS DREW! ![]() Well, for my thing, I can just leave the other airports out of the database - simple solution! ![]() setup airlines to fly into those other airports anyway, but... Here's a question: can FSP access AFCAD at all? Or maybe, the data in the AF2 files? If so, couldn't you check the location at shutdown, and then see if you coords match up with an assigned parking space at the airport you're supposed to have landed at? Let's say you landed and taxiied to gate, I don't know, A3. You're at airport XXXX. Now, FSP gets the lat/lon of your position and then runs through the AFCAD file for XXXX, checking your coords with the parking list, +/- a slight variance. I don't even know if you can get into those files with FSP, though. But, I agree; this issue isn't even really with FS - it's the way the airports were laid out - who would've thought three airports could be jammed up so close! You know, there is one other thing I found - when saving files to check data. I'll run through and maybe there's something that will resonate with someone. Right now, my setup calls for two save files - save the flight at the start and again after shutdown. These two files are then read by my program and the data is extrapolated and placed into the proper fields for the auto-log, which will eventually be uploaded to the web database. Anyway, at one point, I did a save just after touchdown, as I turned off the runway and was called to contact ground. I acknowledged the call and saved the flight there. Later, when I opened that save file with wordpad, I found that the ICAO for the arrival airport was in one of the fields. I don't know if this only works when you have a flightplan filed or not, as I was using one and I think it showed up under either the ATC section or the flightplan section. Either way, just after touchdown, it was definitely confirmed that I was where I was supposed to be. If this were an ATC thing, that would again become an issue for those not using FS9 ATC. I'll have to try again without a flightplan and see what happens. Either way, when I viewed the save file from the gate after shutdown, all this was gone, including the flightplan I was using, as it was no longer valid - flight over. I'd also be interested to see what is recorded here if I land at PANC, where the GPS reports LHD as the closest airport. If it reports PANC in this file, maybe there's a way to grab that out of there, or at least catch the name and pass on the, "confirmed" message. My 2 cents anyway - which around here gets about 0.007 of a gallon of gas! ![]() Side note - Glenn Beck started a TV version of his radio show recently and one of his first show's segments was on how we need to get rid of pennies. "I spend half my life trying to decide where to put all these stinking pennies! And they don't buy crap anyway!" ![]()

You are losing your time In VABB I have this problem I don't no why but you should know or may be you should try together to know why, because in VABB other add-ons detect correctly the aircraft position. I've tried to suggest a solution, I've never said that is the best, but I have verified thai is working good. go to read previous posts May be you prefere to show me as an idiot, instead having a cooperative attitude. I'm simply waiting for two things 1: ok Fabrizio we don't like you but we will try to solve, we will work to do it 2: you will mantain the promises at deadline I Post Edited ( 06-17-06 13:28 )

Quote:fabrytnix wrote: There is the problem, it seems VABB is detected correctly for other users but not in your case. So, it sounds like something is wrong or different with your setup. Then you say we should fix that? How can we fix it if it seems to work just fine for others? You have to agree with me that in this case it sounds more like a problem particular concerning your setup or config than fsp? And even then i think this forum contains lots of solutions and trouble shooting tips even for these specific cases. Would it be possible for you to install a clean fs9 setup (on a different pc would be best) and just install fs9 and fsp and try again?. If you have to do on the same pc make sure you backup your config files like fs9.cfg etc. etc. Also, download a tool called 'scanafd' and check for any duplicate afcad files. ![]() ![]() ![]()
