Mine was on board United 62 from SFO to OGG. I'll tell you how I was running my company, USOAA, Inc which is United States of America
Airline Assosication meaning I fly for any airline in any aircraft out of any airport. The flight was about 2089Nm and I had full service
planned on board. In SFO, I have parking spots where I fly the plane to Maui and then return, park at the gate and then taxi to parking and
do it all over again the next day. I had been doing that for two weeks, and the plane was nearing service. It was about 5:50am and I
started Number 1 and taxied to the gate. 162 passengers schuduled for the flight. Aircraft was only 52% in good condidtion but I knew I
had to fly out and when I returned, the plane would recieve maintanance. That is not what happened at all.


The Flight: (I'm really realistic so just bare with me)

Remember, this is all fake. As I said, Im realistic.

Left my house at 4:30 am
Arrive to SFO at about 5:15 am. Planes were already begining the early morning rush.
I showed Alex my badge and proceeded to the 757 sitting at the parking tarmac along with a few other American, Continental, ATA, and
other United aircraft.

I open the cockpit and began starting up the systems. When everything was ready, I started Number 1 and taxied to the gate. The time
now was 5:55 am.

Boarding began at 6:15 am. I knew it was a risk to go but thought everything was ok.

We pushed at 6:45 am, right on time.

We lifted off at 7:10 am and after 15 minutes of climbing, we were at 37,000 ft. This is when everything went wrong.

I got an engine fire light in the cockpit. I yelled F@#$ . I looked at the GPS and it said we were 412nm off the coast of California. I knew I
had to go back to SFO because we were still of 1,000nm from Maui. Anyway I desended safely and landed just fine.

When I read the report, it said that Number 2 had caught fire 1hr and 43 min into the flight.

The flight landed safely and since then, United 62 has made it all the way to Maui and back about 4 times.

Thats my only serious one, otherwise, my passenegers just love me! but some don't like it when I say that so I get a lot of
those.

Anyway, thats my failure.

aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft artillery fire resulting in a massive hull rupture. There was an exceptional pilot on board and despite the dire
situation he was able to land the aircraft safely. The Captain has also declared an emergency before landing.

Now tell me that isn't the lamest thing you've ever seen? I landed a twisted up 747-400 with a touchdown rate of 71 fpm, and as soon as
the nose wheel touched the ground, flight sim just says :"CRASH"!!! AHHH you've got to be kidding me.


Another in flight emergency I had, was in a seperate 744, en route from Easter Island to Papeete, Tahiti. I planned enough fuel for
enroute + about 15,000-20,000 lbs extra fuel. Lost an engine a little over halfway in flight. Head winds coupled with a higher burn rate at a
lower altitude equaled a bad situation. I ended up landing in Papeete with around 10-15 minutes fuel on board. I was not relishing the
thought of ditching my brand new 744

Additionally, in real life, haven't really had too much go wrong other than a couple of flap failures (to retract (or extend for that matter)).
Flying around San Antonio, TX, almost got clipped but some butthole that wasn't looking for traffic. Was on final for runway 28 at macon
downtown, in macon, GA, (i was doing pattern work) when some shmuck from delta academy shows up on final for 10 without ever
making a call on the unicom to let anybody know what he was doing. But other than that, I've been fortunate :-D unlike C210

I did have a pair of friends who were doing a multi time builder in a beat up old piece of work Duchess from somewhere up in Mass. They
flew it all the way down to Virginia, and on final for LYH, couldn't get the gears to extend. Did an emergency extension and landed. Found
out the motors were shot and had to be replaced. Got em replaced, and took off 2 days later to continue their time builder. Took off, went
to the practice area to verify the gear motors work, they didn't. Did another emergency gear extend, landed back at LYH. The owner didn't
want anything else done, so the two of them had to get a ferry permit and had to fly the plane with the gears extended all the back to
mass longest 6 hours of their life

America West/US Airways flight 136. Sacramento(SMF) to Las Vegas(LAS).

At 24,000 feet, a window cracked and caused me to land at an airport called "070" where the airport must only be at least 900-1000 feet
long. Ouch. The A319 touched down at 119KTS and I used full thrust and I put on the parking brake. The brakes are now damaged as
well as the number 2 engine. The total cost is about 212,000 dollars to fix. WOW!

You realize that a cracked window doesn't mean you have to land at the closest airport possible, you can land at one thats big enough to
hold your aircraft. I had the same failure just last night in a 727 from TNCM to KDAL. Window cracked climbing thru FL230. Made an
emergency descent and flew at 6500 feet for about 60 miles to get to St. Thomas.

Yeah, cracked window and decompression only needs a descend to 12000" IRL, think FSP wants the same!

And as I've just read the posts above about real-life failures:

Last weekend I was on a "flight for fun" of 2 hours around the area in a DR400/180 and on final approach my engine stopped... It was no problem as I was very close to the runway (~200m left) but I think my facial expression must have been pretty funny when I climbed out...

actually I didn't even know that I was flying over a war risk zone in Russia But as it is very very close to the border to Iraq (I belive) that
