Update.. Is the update on hold till FSX comes out?

Wondering what the scoop is on the update...


Before anyone tries to jump on my tail pipe go blow it out yours... The question is blunt and to the point... Just wondering if anyone
knows the current stat's..


P.S. Not Hounding Once again just looking for stats.

well they dont have to do a update if there is no problems with fsp.

I think he is asking because I remember a few months ago Dan said somewhere that there would be an update within "max 15 or so days," or something to
that effect. And there hasn't been one in a while, and I think people were under the impression that Dan was working on one. I'm curious too, but I'm
perfectly content with FSP right now, it's still the best program out there, update or not.

I too recall Dan talking about an update that had some new cargo options anfd addressed the pilot/copilot configuration options among other things.
but I don't remember it as being imminent. Just curious also, not being critical or impatient.

My take is, since there hasn't been any news from Dan, there aren't going to be any more updates. Just a guess. But its very late now, and time is
getting on towards the release of FSX. So I hope nobody is holding their breath.

It's funny how many people though haven't noticed the 100hr maintenance bug... Isn't funny after paying to do the repairs after the
25hr maintenance you never have to do the 100hr maintenance.. Just paying attn to detail '


Trust me I am not complaining just wondering... As far as I am concerned this put a whole new vector in the flightsim. I just hope it
keeps growing I think this is one of the best programs that goes with flightsim along with others. But with out FSP wouldn't have any icing
on the cake...

I actually hope that Dan doesn't make the change to FSX when it comes out.

I still enjoy my FS9 too much, and FSX would be too expensive for me (as I would need a 2nd new computer!!).
Also all the add-ons we now have with FS9. I hope Dan will stick with FS9 for a while.

Tat sounds like a mighty big thing to program. Just think about it, it would be like creating a whole new add-on for cargo. It could very
easily double FsP size. Therefore I'd assume that it just a very large task that requires alot of work. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Well,

the status is as follow:

FsX is really too close for an update, cargo thingy can take me month to do
to be a cool stuff all this work to be defeated by the new Fs release.

Now I'm looking forward about FsX and to reply essential questions:

Would a FsP still be needed in FsX ?
Would it be POSSIBLE technically to update FsP for FsX ?
If yes how much time would it take ? 1 month ? one years ?

My current various "statisticall" guess on this are as follow:

they will renew totally the core of FS.... 50% chances that they don't
FsP would run "as it is" on FsX 10% chances it will.
Update will take me one month or less: 35%
Update will take me 2-4 month: 40%
Update will take me more: 10%
Update will be impossible/not suitable: 15%
The FsX SDK will be out just after the release: 10% chance

In brief without having a look at FsX I have absolutely no idea of all this.
Just my personnal guess

I hope at least FsX will REALLY be out this summers and that we can have
the SDK quickly and not as it was for Fs2004, month later. I'll try t least
to have a hand on the beta, the sooner I can have a look sooner I'll be able
to give an accurate reply.

I hope there is no compatibility issues between FS9 and FSX with regards to FSP. I agree with others that the notion of buying another
system just for FSX is not practical. I have a friend who just bought a new system that is decked out, big time!! A Sony with widescreen,
big buck$$. It won't be good enough for FSX, he's planning to upgrade again....

My FS9 is decked out with all the bells and whistles and a pure enjoyment to fly, Active Sky, Flight Environment , FSP, FSCargo, etc, etc....
with some great aircraft. Knowing that some of these will be compatible with FSX, I can ill-afford to do this again and again every 3-4
years.

I hope that you continue to code for FS9. Again, thanks for an awesomely outstanding program, please keep up the great work....

I'll try my best about maintening also Fs9 version
when working for FsX but no promise if the code
are too different it might be impossible.
