I like the 787 too. It has lots of cool new toys I like the windows in the cabin that tint by pushing a button, no more sliding shades! yay!

what do you think brad, is the 787 the future replacement for the 737's in SWA's fleet?

787 is the next Gen replacement for the 757 and 767 series, so airlines that still want 737's won't be buying it. I'd look toward that new
design from here in UK as the ultimate future of air travel, supposed to be silent from the ground as all the noise is designed to go up.

I doubt SWA will replace the 737 with the 787. As John mentioned, the 787 is a bit larger. Designed to replace the 757/767. I believe that
the 737 line of aircraft (the best selling line ever), will continue. Boeing's not going to give up their most successful design. They'll most
likely fix some of the things that bug us pilots in the next generation series, add a few extra goodies, and release another 737 version!

They're doing just that. They recently launched their new 737-900X which I think is basically a 737-900ER with updated avionics and more PAX's space.

Lion Air on a 737? I've only seen Lion on a McDonell Douglas MD-83

Sounds realistic, Seen from the customer side, I don't know if a 15% increase of the cruise speed will change a lot. on the passenger's side don't
forget the time to go at the airport, the time to register, to board, the plane must taxi, reach 10 000 at 251 kts so, even on a long haul flight.
the change will more likely be small on the total time travel. can be totally flattened by simply the winds ...

Concorde was not a disaster unless you were Air France.

The disaster of Concorde was caused by the previous plane which lost a mettallic part on the runway just before. So, paint any logo you like on the
plane, the result would have been the same. the fuel tank was broken by the tires parts.

Soon or late another airliner will offer the passengers a speed above Mach 2. Here will be the real change for the customer for what's is available today.

I tried two models of the 787 Dreamliner. One very nice but with poor dynamics. another good in the dynamics but poor in visual aspect.

This design is an absolute beauty making any current airliner looking outdated. but in matter of time travel, no change. May be the inside design
will make a significant difference for the passengers and the conception significant economies for the companies. Is so, the 787 will be a big success.
