To explain a bit further... stock airports can not be deleted as they contain certain information FS9 uses. However if the addon airport is not 100%
correct it might overlay incorrectly over the stock airport and cause problems as well. Also... NEVER use fs2002 addons for airports etc... aircraft is fine but the FS2002 ones do have a offset problem which will cause AI to go haywire as well as taxiways, runways etc... always make 100% sure airport AFCAD's is for FS2004. A quick way to test is after installing the airport to exit FS9... start again and then select the airport and choose active runway... see if its aligned 100%... if not or if it crashes dump (remove) the AFCAD OR see if there is a duplicate. ![]()

It ist not possible to add FS02-AFCADs to FS04 as these old AFCAD were purely txt files which were added into FS02 by using the AFCAD tool by Lee Swordy.
The problem is vice versa FS04-AFCADs are now bgl files which can be added to FS02 and are causing major problems then.

Quote:It ist not possible to add FS02-AFCADs to FS04 as these old AFCAD were purely txt files which were added into FS02 by using the AFCAD tool by I think you are mistaken there as FS2002 does make use of AFCAD files. I quickly found 2 links for you to prove my point... http://www.simviation.com/fs2002scenery68.htm ... Here you download the Zambezi river AFCAD for FS2002... it does contain BGL files and is specific for FS2002 http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2002sc.htm ... Here they quickly discuss installing their 3rd Party BGL files for FS2002 Thats where many go wrong.. they accidentally loads FS2002 AFCAD files into FS2004... results are crashes or incorrect offsets and the biggest problem is that sometimes you dont pick those problems up until you either start using AI Traffic etc OR when you find yourself parked in a building or taxiways offsets wrong as well as runway etc. Some people convert AFCADS to FS2004 but still have wrong offsets etc also causing problems. Hope it helps ![]() |
