Sorry if this has been asked before, I have tried searching for the answer.

I'm using the PMDG 737 as well as PFPX to calculate the fuel needed, however I still seem to get the fuel penalty. I've tried adding a few extra thousand kg's but usually still get the penalty. Am I doing something wrong? Its annoying to lose 300 points on an otherwise exceptional flight.

It's possibly not as simple as you put it. A few thousand pounds may not get you the cushion necessary in order to get to your destination and still have enough IFR reserves for at least 45 minutes of flying upon reaching destination (in case you have to fly a holding pattern). Could be a fuel leak but you didn't mention that possibility. Headwinds aloft? Possibly. What are your usual length of flights with the 737 (in nautical miles)? Does PFPX calculate all of the fuel necessary for taxiing, climb to cruise, enroute fuel based on winds aloft, etc? Also, how do you load fuel...via the FMC or FsP?

PFPX measures fuel for taxi, any extra fuel for holding, alternate destination, etc. On a 394nm flight, it calculates me to have 1h44m of fuel left at destination.

Thanks for the ideas though, I'll play around a bit more and see how it goes....


Oh, and I load the fuel via the FMC
