Cellestial navigation - let's see who is who!!!

If you sometimes fly old planes like 707 and older and would like to navigate the way they used to - without GPS aids when flying over the
pond - like navigating usig the stars and constellations, download this file: http://www.elbiah.de/flusi/MyFsStars/MyFsStars-1-0.zip
put it in the main FS9 folder and overwrite the default one. Open it (it's called stars.dat) with notepad and change the value
Constellations=0 into
Constellations=132

That will link the stars that form constellations with lines - like in zodiac.
Of course, you'll gave to be able to reckognize the constellations. If you live in the northern hemisphere, you'll have no trouble to reckognize
Little and Big Bear, so you can start from that.

If (after a while) you get bored, the default value was 0, not too hard to remember!

Yeah, why start with the "map" in the first place. Just look at the stars, and navigate!



I've got GPS and at the least VOR to VOR navigation these days.

In other words you can fly 737 but would be lost on Kon-Tiki (or any other raft ) !?

Hmmm and for extra fun set the cloud coverage to 6/8ths or maybe 7/8ths and make sure you fly below the clouds... that should offer an ectra
challenge... just joking of course
