VA Script -- getting disabled penatlys

Can you get the penaltys disabled when sending a flight?

I know you can use the BitsPenalyDisabled to see if somthing has been, but is there anyway I could check if the
disablecrashes/collisions was off, compared to the rest of the penaltys, that way (using the script I have made) pilots who only use the
disablecrashes/collisions would make more points for a flight, compared toa pilot who had disabled gear speed limit for example.???

you can check if your users have penaltys by using this script (and if you dont want them to disable anything you can just make it return an
error

In the Script it says you can perfrom Bit Test...

So I am assuming you check for each bit like this?

etc...

I tried Pming Dan, but never got a response, Im going to bumb this, just incase he missed it, as I am curious to know if this works, and if
it does, it would be useful for what I want to do...

The bit test works like this:
The variable $_POST[BitsPenalityDisabled] returns a numeric value (single byte or double byte, don't know - but let's assume single byte).
In case this value is greater zero it means that at least one penalty has been disabled.

Take an easy example and say the variable returns 1. In binary mode this would be 0000001. Each of the 8 bits stands for one penalty
(don't ask me which ones, i simply don't know), so in the example you would see that penalty #8 has been disabled.
With binary 00101000 (decimal 40) it would be 3rd and 5th penalty.

In PHP there got to be some functions for byte comparison, maybe search for it on php.net. I never needed those, so don't know them.

Thanks for your input, but I wish dan would reply so we could get the actual bits to use, or just tell us the pattern, if it does work like you
said, then ill give that ago, but I would still like to know the offical word.

Fsp Should be passing this variable when you submit the flight, it just inst recorded in the database and it isnt included in the php script
to pick it up, but there is that point where it says BitsPeanltysDisabled and obviously it will tell you what things are enabled/disabled, but
there is nothing written about it, and so I dont know the Binary on how the Bits work for Fsp, and Dan hasent responded on the topic both
times I have pmed him, and I would really like to know.

yes you can, but you have to edit the php file to know how to read it...
as I said before you can tell if 1 or more penaltys were disabled (by using: if ($_POST[BitsPenalityDisabled]>0) {//commands
here\\} )
but you inorder to check which penalty was disabled you need to know the bits, or binary code for each penalty, and as of now, I dont
know what the binary for each penalty is, so I cant check it, and im trying to get that info from dan.

I was interested in the question myself, so I made some tests in the more_options.cfg, and the above table shows the bits for each single
penalty. 0 means enabled, 1 disabled. Basically the bits in the $_POST variable are in the same order as the penalties in more_options
are listed, only "DisableMaxPowerPenaltyWithBrake" is out of order.

I hope you get the system now. $_POST[BitsDisabledPenalty] gives you a decimal number up to 16383 (= all disabled), that's a
double byte value where each bit stands for one penalty. The last 2 bits aren't used.
Now, if you get the value 256 it means that the door check has been disabled. You can see that there are countless possibilities for
combinations (hope you understand I won't write them all down )
Just another example: If the $_POST variable returns 6144 (binary: 00011000 00000000) it means that Collision Detection and Crash
Detection have been turned off.

What you have to do is to create a new culomn in your database for the BitsDisabled value and include that value into the INSERT query
of FsPGetflight.php to store the stuff in your DB.
I don't know what would be the best way to display the disabled penalties in the VA script. Basically you'll have to convert the decimal value to
a binary (php function decbin() ) and then maybe run through all the bits and check which ones are set to 1. Then you can display the
description of the penalty in the pirep.

lol, I understand how bits and conversion to decimal work (base 10 and base 2,etc... -- iv written my own fxn to handle this for a problem
in visual basic) -- but thaks for your chart it will help in figuring it all out.. (In the long run, I just wanted dan to tell me which penalty got
which bit, etc...

I will run the tests, but it looks like you got the right bits figured, so thanks for you help (ps... for anyone that will want this to be included
with their php script, I can make a revised version for you... post if you are intetested...

(my idea for the script is if, certain major penaltys are enabled, then they cant submit their flight, has nothing to do with storing the info in the database to display on the pireps (but I can make that edit if you want))
