Applause?

Hi,

just bought the product from simmarket and very pleased with it, fantastic product!

But as i've read after a brief search on the forum that the pax only applau after a succesful emergency landing and not a regular smooth
landing, is this correct?

If yes is there a way of changin it, because I wouldn't mind having some applause after 5h flight with a smoothie landing

more or less everyone excpect to make a good landing at each flight so usually people don't applause
unless you have something really special....

I have flown a gazillion times and I have NEVER seen anyone applaud a landing.
Now if he landed with one engine missing and no gear I sure would applaud.

From my 10 flights there was applause in about 3 times, and trust me, just normal landings and nothing special

Agree with PH-MD11, you know this especially from charter flights where the vaccation has just begun and everybody are happy to arrive
even when once the landing sucked people applauded just for that reason.

I'm certain this isn't to much asked to perhaps have a option for this....on or off.

ok this can add value for charter flight but what about your marvellous flight
with 6 engine on fire, three wings ripped off and you manage to land safely
with simply the same applause then the flight were you landed on a clear
weather and no wind without any failure.

mhhh ? honestly ? would not those applause at each flight be simply boring after sometime ?
(and deceiving to have the same with the 6 engine on fire?)

Well you could do two different applause sound effects... a moderate "clap clap" one for the smooth landings, and wild cheering for successful
emergency landings.

Personally I can do without though. I don't like people applauding an A3xx autoland in real life and I don't need it in the sim.

YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TOGETHER WITH SCANDINAVIAN CHARTER TOURISTS I SEE...............THEY LOVE TO APPLAUSE A

Yep, here in America everyone expects a flawless flight. After all, with my airline they pay $170 to go non-stop from Oakland to
Philadelphia (and they still complain!!) I've never had a landing applauded (however, I have had customer comments both good and bad
about landings when they're leaving the plane). It's just how we Americans are... we wanna get from A to B with no frills, and no hastle.
Now if you go over to Italy, or Greece and fly on one of their airlines, you'll hear the PAX join in a roar of applauding and yelling when the
plane touches down smoothly. It adds to the whole experience of being over there (for me at least).

Since PAX don't clap for me in real life, I don't want them clapping for me in FSP

I usually kiss the ground and the pilots feet but that is just because I am happy to not have crashed

I have heard applause on two flights ever (on US based airlines) and I do over 90 flights a year. One was on a flight to Cincinatti on a 737 with 3
passengers. It was the first day the airports were open again after 9/11 and all 3 of us clapped for the crew and the attendants and then they
clapped for us and thanked us for flying...
I had the same crew back to NY but there were something like 35 people on that flight...

The second one was after a go around due to a slow aircraft leaving the runway at Hartsfield. We were almost in the flare when I heard the throttle
go full again. The lady sitting next to me nearly cr***ed her pants until I told her there was nothing necessarily wrong and there are a lot of
reasons for a go around. By the time we made our second pass, you could not see anything the visibility was so bad. Everyone applauded the pilot on
that flight.

Other than that, like Brad said, we as passengers just take it for granted. I always make a point to pop my head into the flightdeck and thank the
pilots. Continental pilots almost never come back to greet the customer from my experience although they are usually great about letting you up to
the flightdeck before the flight. I have been in the flight deck of the 777, 767, 737 6/7/8, ERJ and the 1900D thanks to many a Continental pilot.
