I wanted to take my 737-400 to bagdad in Iraq..
Everything was fine undtil 5 miles from the airport then the plane was **** by small arms fire several times..
First the right engine started burning, then the cabin presure failed though its not a problem during landing.
Next the flaps took damage and could not be extended.. Since I knew I had to make a fast landing due to risk of gunfire I tried to come in
fast for the landing... But then the big problem happened... Loss of hydraulic.. After that failure nothing was working, and the gear could
not be lowered in time..
So flaps gone, gear up, and no hydraulic.. Still on glide slope to the runway...
Next left engine cought fire... so basicly I had no choise other than to make a dead stick landing..
Fortunatly I could glide to the runway and touch down... VERY VERY hard..
But I survived the emergency crash landing... and slided my 737 down the runway.
So what did I learn from this... Never go to Bagdad.
The plane was so badly damaged that I simply sold it, it would never become a plane again.
