A330-200/300

Hi mates, and captains here

i have a questions for the pilot who fly the A330-200/300, i dont know if the question belongs here or in the FSX forums sections.... my
question are... how much can fly this bird with one single running engine, i mean, if a engine shutdown in the midle of a transoceanic
flight, and if u have enough fuel, u can land at your original destination, or u need to divert fast as posible.

Hi,

When you experience engine failure you need to follow so called ETOPS standards for a particular engine model. For example Trent engines are certified
as per ETOPS 180 standard, meaning that you can fly up to 180 minutes using a single engine. That's why flying over oceans makes it a bit more
difficult to plan the route as you always need to be within your ETOPS range in an event of engine failure.

An engine failure is always a matter of landing at a suitable airport as soon as possible as the other engine is stressed "more than usually" so you
want to avoid any troubles once the only engine you have handy gets wrecked, too :badsmile;

the birds i fly on FSX are fited with RR engines, i read, have the same ETOPS standars... well so if i have a engine fail, is better land and
soon as posible, for the safety of the pax...

if you want to understand the ETOPS better , check out a video from just planes , i forgot its name , but you can find it on youtube just planes
