Yeeha! Just plowed into KBOS, Runway 15R in the Baron - gear up - scraping sounds made me want to puke! In a good way, though!
Nails on a chalkboard has nothing on this sound! Sparks flew; aircraft shook like crazy but I got her down in one piece - more or less.
Only problem is, the danged thing never stopped! When the airspeed finally went to zero, the forward momentum ceased but, the plane
kept shaking violently. I even pulled the parking brake, shutdown the engines and it still was vibrating like a jackhammer. It took a quick
doubletap on the slew key to set it straight.
The good thing - no crash banner and reset. The bad, there was no way to maintain the damaged gear for a later repair scenario as the
slew tap caused the gear to auto-deploy and sit the aircraft on level ground.
Is that a 10.1 patch I hear?
I hope they also get those bridges out of the water again - the Tobin has the lower deck taking the plunge when it reaches East Boston.
Also, the Zechem (spelling?) is nothing to look at. And finally, some roads intersect at an angle with a bridge and this causes them to
pull a Dukes of Hazzard! Hang out near the Charles on the north of Boston, facing the Fleet Center or whatever they call it now (we still
call it the Garden!) and watch the traffic leap the bridges!
Oh, I almost forgot - Boston has hovercars! Sit near the Tobin and watch - they are a good foot to two feet off the ground! Yeah, I hear the
patchworks coming.
