Mini Display invisible

For some reason I cannot fathom, the mini display is not showing on FSX, it is invisible. I can click on it if I can find it and when I right click, the
settings appear normally. It's just the display does not show.

After research in these forums, I've reinstalled FSPAX, I've removed nHancer, I've turned off anti aliasing, I've put into/out of windowed
mode...I'm stumped.

I'm installed as administrator.

On a previous PC I had no problems. I flew one on my current laptop with no problems, then something changed and now I cannot see the
mini display. I have no memory of what might have changed

Any thoughts?

I'm using FSX SP2
Windows 7 Home SP1
ASUSTek Laptop
Intel i7-3610QM CPU
2.3 GHz
8 GB RAM
64 bit OS
