Very Loud Noise

When I change the view in FS2004 I get this horrible loud noise that drowns out all other sounds. I searched this topic and found one
other person had the some problem. I checked for updates to my sound card as he was instructed to do, but Soundblaster says I have
the latest drivers. The noise is only there when using FSPassengers and it so bad I am going to have to quite using it if I can’t get it fixed.

First of all welcome to the forum!
Which soundcard do you have ? I can see a soundblaster one but I need some more information about it.

I looked under System Information and it says my soundcard is a Creative SB Live.

I have reduced the sound settings in FS04 from high to medium since I posted the message and I am currently flying without having any
problems. I will complete the flight and post the results since I made the change.

Well I thought it was fixed until I restarted FS and took another flight. Only happens when I change views to the spot plane and only when
using FS Passengers. The sound almost sounds like a crackling popping noise if that helps.

FIrst of all I would like you to go to this place and search for driver updates.

I can also search for you then I need which country you come from and what's the exact name of your sound card.

It's only in FsP ? I'll look at it but first lets look at driver updates. It's often the problem If you have used Windows' own update system it
won't find all updates at all.

Could this be the engines noise you get with FSP?
Load up FS, then on the alt menu go FSPassengers - FSPassengers Setup - Sound Volume Setup. Pull the 'Engine effect' slider all the way to the left
and give it another try.

Looks like I need to update my card, the Creative web site says the card has reached the end of its service life. I had this computer built
last October and obviously an old card was installed on the system. My system is an AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+, 2.41 GHz
with 2.00 GB of Ram.

Yes it is only when I use FSP, but I am thinking now it is somehow overloading the card. When this is going on ALL sounds are drowned
out by this sound. Even when I minimize the window or pause FS the sound continues. I agree it is a soundcard (driver) problem and not
FSP.

I have changed all the settings around but no help, I am going to update my card since I got shafted with an old card on my new system
and see what happens.

Is it a loud hiss? maybe it's not your sound card but the airconditioning system sound of FSP? I turned it off completely because it really got on my
nerves flying a Cessna
