I declared a false emergency?

I was flying in my DC-3, and I heard a boom. The crew said that they could not serve food/drink in these conditions, so I thought that it was some
kind of failure. I decended quickly, and landed at the nearest possible airport. FSPassengers then tells me I declared a false emergency. Any idea
what happened?

I don't know where the 'boom' came from but usually crew cannot serve during severe turbulence or when you're for example climbing too fast ( i
believe more than 2600 ft/m)

what was the weather like? i've never had this but could i possibly be lightenning or thunder and then have turbalence

When the problem occured, the skies were just partly cloudy...however, on approach to the airport, there was thunder, since the sky suddenly got ugly,
unrealistically, I might add.

Guess that was it. Still not quite sure why my passengers got scared after the boom.
