Flaps weren't in a proper position

I use to be fined by 300 point every flight because flaps weren't in a proper position during take-off. Please, can you tell me how to set the flaps?
When I take-off, I put them into "UP" position and during landing into "DOWN" position. Isn't that OK?

NO Not completely down, when you take off, you have to set your flaps to 5 degrees and when airbourne or before reaching 250 kts, re-
set the flaps back to up.

All aircraft are different, some require 5 degrees, some 10 degrees, different settings for takeoff vs. landing, etc. FSP will penalize you if you
takeoff/land without flaps set at least one notch. You can shut off the flaps penalty however, by editing the more_option.cfg. Also, it help a lot to
just read the FAQ.

The Cessna will take off without flaps with no problem :D lol.

Just add a notch when ur taking off mate, raise gears and once your gained airspeed and altitude clean the flaps and off you go. Beware
of exceding 250kts we dont want those flaps ripped off :D.

For landing extend the flaps gradually while you are approaching.

Also, you don't want to raise the flaps until you're higher than 500 ft AGL; you'll still get a flap penalty.

I usually raise them at 1000 feet just when im starting to bank after 20 secs or so in runway heading.
