Hi,
I've recently flown from PANC (Alaska) to UHPP (Russia) with ny 737-800. It was very hard flight, as I've hit very strong head wind (140knt) and
found out that I'm short on fuel. Reaching my destination I had about 1000kg of fuel on board. I know I missed the fuel calculation, but wind
was unexpected
Then things went even worse. On approach - landing lever down - "We've got problem captain" Three RED... No fuel to go
around... short time to decide what to do... I've done nice and smooth belly landing (about 50ft/m) and everything finished good... Except of
28milions of repair (airplane was pretty new - about 60h, maintained well 100%)... I've sold aircraft, as it was cheaper to sold wreck and buy a
new one. After few days of waiting for new plane, I've started my brand new plane, and wanted to leave...
At take off I had a bird strike, oil temp was raising slowly... I've noticed that in time, and to prevent further damage to the engine I turned it off. I
was able to come back to UHPP airport, had hard landing, and then 11millions for repair the engine and landing gear (hard landing with one
engine)... Brand new plane, I've fixed it... Hoped to leave airport next time...
I've palnned my flight, setup the aircraft, takeoff roll, leave the ground, gear up, flaps up - PAH... Cpt., we had a bird strike, right engine failed
(the second one - no the one repaired earlier)... This time, I wasn't able to land safetly, I was low, with much fuel, mountains in vicinity...
Finally UHPP won... I've crashed, crew and all 128 passangers were dead... My company was quite ruined financially, but fortunate I was able
to buy another 737 and leave.
What is really funny is that this company is set to just 5% of incidents... And they were so severe in a short time...
Cursed UHPP :D
