Active runway problem.

Hi there,
This is a question about runway assignments. In real life is the correct runway assignment chosen by the the way the wind is blowing,
i.e. if it were blowing at 220 degrees and there was a runway at 240 degrees (runway 24) this would be the active runway, whereas if the
wind was blowing at 70 degrees then then the active runway would be 06. Is that correct?

If so, why won't it change the active runway on my FS2004. No matter what i do the active runway at EGCC is always 24R, even when it
should be 6L. I'm using Activesky and i've tried changing the flightsim time to refresh the AI and such but still no luck.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I checked the afcads and everythings fine. This morning they were using 6L and so as a test to see if the runway did chang, i
downloaded some old weather on Activesky with the wind blowing at 220 to see if the runway would change and it did. And now
whenever i change the wind, the runway is always 24R. Very strange. I've been messing around with it for a couple of hours now with no
joy.

Please note, that default EGCC airport model in FS9 is slightly crewed up, if not say worse.
Aspeccially when we talk about 24R which is magic runway indeed.
You should notice that AI can't takeoff form it and that there are two signs "24R" on it's entrance and that tower doesn't see if you on this
RW so that it may clear some AI for takeoff while you still on position...
So no wonder that ATC can go nuts with this runway as well.
My advice - dont use default EGCC, I had used it for a long time and it was extremely annoying (I do use AI at 100% and colisions on and I
do fly with default ATC)...

Another thought...make sure you refresh the AI after Active Sky updates the weather. And before you do that, don't talk to ATC at all.

ActiveSky and it still didn't changed. i even deleted the saved weather in the My Saved Flights folder.

Well, maybe this is a reason of your poblem?
Have you tried to fly without it?

I've sorted it. turns out it was the afcad i was using. I just reinstalled the one that came with the scenery and all is now well. Shame about
the afcad though as it was a good one. Thanks for the help
