Does anyone know how to put in your own real world routes into the GPS? I've started using VATSIM and would like to program the routes they give me
into the GPS

Can't see a problem here..
I'd suggest the following way: 1) With the default MSFS Flight planner - create the IFR flight=Direct GPS 2) Go to 'Edit' and make all the necessary flight route changes - at least you can add\edit the waypoints as you like 3) Fly it! ^) Or do I miss something?

Are you sure?

I have this route ex. RBV RENUE PROUD...I find RBV but I cannot find the others

What is that? That doesn't look like any routing I've ever seen. Routing is usually in this format (here's an example from KRNO-KSLC):
KRNO.WAGGE1.LLC.J32-94.BAM.J154.BVL.BVL1.KSLC I'm not sure if that's even an applicable route anymore. I happened to see it on one of my older flightplans. Typically, the direct routing (or "GPS routing") isn't used that often for IFR commercial flights. Keep in mind that it's easier for ATC when planes are in a pre-determined airway or arrival/departure procedure (it's also easier on us pilots).

Quote:KRNO.WAGGE1.LLC.J32-94.BAM.J154.BVL.BVL1.KSLC Yep, except (don't know how SB3 works, but I assume it is similar to IVAP) the arrival and departure airports are omitted from the flight plan...and don't put the periods in. Using a program like FS Build, but put the above route in and hit build. It will automatically export it to a FS2004 flight plan if you want it to and then you can just load it into FS2004. The problem that you're having with fixes is that they are constantly being added and deleted...especially those for terminal procedures. Chances are that the fixes you are looking for are part of a DP or STAR and have already been deleted and renamed in a new revision of the procedure. The only way to fix that is to use FS BUILD or FS NAVIGATOR, or something that is capable of adding fixes to a flight plan by use of LAT/LONG coordinates rather than just those available in FS. Of course, if you were really ambitious, you could probably export the DAFIFT data for waypoints and then create a FS2004 scenery file with all of them in. A lot of work though and probably not worth it. ![]()

Get FSBuild and do the route. You can either let FSBuild plan the route for you, or you can plug in a route with all the fixes you have
available to you. Before you have FSBuild calculate the route, make sure you have the option selected to export to flight simulator. Then, when you open FS, you can simply load the flight from the flight planner, and it will automatically be fed into your GPS. Super easy.
