FSX won't install

The installation wizard starts but after a minute or two of inactivity I get the message "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or Write
ProcessMemory request was completed." followed after OK by "Windows could not run the installation program. You may be out of
memory."

I have a 3GHz machine with 1GB RAM and more than 70GB of free hard disk space.

There is only one mention of this message in the Microsoft KB and the suggested fix did not work. I have lodged the post on the Microsoft
Games Community forum with no luck! Any IT wizz suggest something? Stevo

Have you read the app and sys logs yet? they may lead you to the fix action.

Under computer management. If you have XP, right click my computer and click manage, then go to the event viewer.

Thanks. The system log has about a zillion errors at the time I was trying to install. They all seem to have the same message "The device
\Device\CdRom0 has a bad block"

is this a problem with the drive or the disk?

I would wager it's a problem with your DVD drive. Have another to try?
