Improved FSX (enhanced FS2004 a like)

So, I did a little and simple improvement of my FSX with help of my already improved (realismus patch) FS2004.

Very simple: I copied all world texture files I have

in: FS2004\Scenery\World\texture
to: FSX\Scenery\World\Texture (Don't forget to make a security copy if you try that too)

Looks a lot better now (more realistic) . At least so I like it a lot better..
(There you can see what microsoft did wrong.)

But judge self: Below are screenshots of Zurich(Switzerland), Samedan (Switzerland), and Elba (Italy)

Different to Malpanese (Italy), the deafult FSX zurich airport is really not that bad. Sourrounded with the right FS2004 world texture the airport and city now looks very fine if you considere this is with no add on's! (but still improveable of course)

Oh, almost forgot I also took some files of the airpot upadate 7 file:aeu7.zip (you can take all files except the halo.bmp, this one kills the sky in FSX). Can't tell if it helped. The rwy could be improved dunno, the airport building it somehow didnt upgrade like in FS2004 as I have hoped

What kind of FPS are you getting now?

Same as before. Just a little little bit faster.

With the setting sI took the pictures and I am going to use.

Screen res: 1600x1200
Aircraft:ultra
water: maximum
Structure detaily and Scenery detaily on maximum!
Autogen on minimum (one step above none)
50% traffic (I set that later inthe screenshot serie, but without that the airports looks that dead)

I have 22 fps in the clear air (hold) now (before 18-19)

About 12-14 in normal flight.
About 9 - 12 over city

About 5 -6 on the zurich airpot (50% traffic)
About 8-9 with 20% traffic on airportt)

It's just so flyable. But without the settings above FSX looks too ugly worse then FS2004 in my option. So this is a must.

Autogen and traffic are the major killing of the framerate. Not surte if its because their texture which could be resized.

Hmmmm....are the ramp textures fsX or fs9 ....they look pretty coarse to me - uneven to the point that one would need offroad tires

I can't recall them to be like that in my fs9 addon airport

Autogen slows down the FS as there is more involved than just loading the texture. Autogen decides where to generate an object, which
type it may be, adjusts it and then has to load the texture.

The ramps and the whole airport is FSX.

Although I aplied the airprots 7 updated (FS2004) it seemed to have no impact. (i frist though becaus ethe green airport ground instead
of the unrealistic desert us-ugly-stil one. But green is the summer and desert the autom texture i figured out now. I guessthey would do
good to exchange that ugly desert texture as soon as possible in FSX.

I am not sure if you address more the taxiway or the ramps. the ramps are fuzzy (microsoft somehow dislikes sharp textures)
the taxiways are bamp mapped. Althought not realistic that at least doesnt looks that bad.

micro missed a lot of oportunities to bring out a 'kick ass' product. Just chgeck about the roads, although now with vehicles traveling on it,
thats a washy grey undefined something. Not a road. And it had been so easy to make that look good...
