Having a strange problem with buying aircraft....

So I recently got bit by the bug again, reinstall FS2004, some of the old sceneries, FsPassengers, etcetera. Everything was working fine, started out
with my little bush airline, flew some flights around that awesome Laos scenery from avsim with all the Air America Lima Sites, and end up crashing
and killing my pilot.

Fair enough, it was with the Carenado Cessna 185 on tundra tires onto a 400 foot strip at a 15 degree incline, and I'm not a great pilot on my best day.

So, here's where the problem comes in. I go to start a new airline somewheres else, create a pilot, and then buy a plane. BUT for whatever reason,
when I hit "buy current FS" plane, the game just crashes to desktop, every time.

I've tried it with default planes and various free/payware planes, and none of them work. I simply cannot use FsPassengers in economic mode anymore.
I've reinstalled everything, deleted databases, I am completely at a loss. Have any of you experienced anything like this?

Hello, helly...sorry you are having issues. I wonder what your system specs are, and did you recently change anything on your system...hardware or
software? I have never experienced issues like this with FsP and FsPX...even after changing hard drives,etc. I just recently changed hard drives
again. No issues. Even copied my saved databases over to the new installation and have zero problems.

System specs are nothing special, just my laptop with built in Intel HD4000 and an intel i3 chip. It's kind of amazing how efficiently fs2004 runs on relatively weak new systems.

Nothing in the system configuration changed between it working and not working, and nothing changed in flight sim either. I just crashed and tried to buy a new plane.

I have tried with various planes, companies, and pilots, and I have used both addon and stock planes. CTD every time.

I suspect it's because I'm on Windows 8, having done more research. It just blows me away that it worked beautifully, and then just all of a sudden
stopped.
