I am flying a saab340 using 2137lbs/hr The plane only holds 5100lbs can this be changed? Seems high

Are you making sure to retard the prop rpm's and torque after takeoff? Many (if not all) turboprops require you to set a torque and prop rpm setting
for climb and cruise. This will allow you to get the best fuel economy. Also, there should be a cruise and fast cruise setting for you in the aircraft's operations tables. The B1900C's and B1900D's I fly have both a cruise and fast cruise based on the settings for torque and prop rpm. ![]()

To add, if you are flying at lower altitudes, fuel consumption is going to be higher. Get that airplane high and I bet you will see a big
difference in fuel consumption.
