Ran into a couple issues this weekend. Fired my pilot, ME, twice!
1. Left terminal with passenger and cargo loaded for a Tundra flight in Alaska. My wheel caught on fire. Brakes were off. Thinking that
this was a FSP induced issue, declared emergency, stopped the plane, and debarked all soles. FSP wouldn't accept emergency
declaration. FSP didn't record the event, but noted it as an ABORT of mission. It was an ABORT, but seemingly not graded. Thoughts?
2. Seaplane landing in the water. No sweat. Pulled along side the dock, PARKING BRAKE ON. No problem. Noted a little wave action.
No problem. Exceptional Flight to that point. No problem. Debarked passenger and cargo. Progressed well until the last 16 seconds
when a wave surged the plane at the dock. Co-pilot advise "door needs to be shut immediately in flight" or words to that effect. Final
grade. Disaster. Horrible flight, passengers didn't appreciate being tossed around in flight, passengers didn't appreciate high + and -
G's, dangerous to open the door in flight, and the grand final, major fines for unsafe airmanship. UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!
All while moored to the dock. Thoughts?
3. Bush flying is inherently high intensity. Try some of the Misty Moorings locations, like Spotted Lake airfield... or Ranger Lookout when
you need to be an Eagle to land. Rapid decents and swoops are sometimes necessary navigating the crevaces of the Fjords and
bouncy landings, they happened. Is the a modifier that could account for Bush Flying? Thoughts?
4. Payload model naming. Short of adjusting EditVoicepak for any variation of aircraft that available, let's take the Aviat Husky, coming in
five flavors - Taildragger, Float, Amphibian, Tundra, and Skis. I was able to fool Amphib and Tundra models by naming them Aviat Husky
A-1B AM and TT (tundratires). But Aviat A-1B Husky AB or TT wouldn't work... Comments? (and I have read the FAQ).
Worked a couple of payload models for the Aviat Husky (Amphib and Tundra planes) and a Bushmaster Scenario (extremely difficult).
Uploads forthcoming. Not great money producers (1 pax and 60 lbs of cargo), but they do land like the eagle and can navigate in very
tight places and give you room to grow.......
