Brakes penalty

Hey there,

I am new to this software, but been flying the simulator for years. I wanted to congratulate Dan on his magnificent work, we all know his stuff’s the
best. I tried many other similar add-on software but FsPassengers is BY FAR the best out there. Fact. (Just a bit pricy though hehe). Anyway, I will
never regret buying it as it’s the most fabulous add on ever and changes the fs experience completely! Come to think of it, fs2004 without any add-ons
at all Is….well, crap!

To the question now (please note that I searched the forum but couldn’t find anything similar, maybe I didn’t use the right key words but if it has
been posted before I apologize).

B737-300, Aegean Airlines, land at 135-140 knots, user reverse thrust and slow down to 80 knots where I take this off and at about 50 knots (Depending
on the length of the runway) I smoothly and slowly use brakes to slow down the aircraft to 15-20 knots so I can exit the runway and taxi, then stop
somewhere. I ALWAYS get a penalty for applying brakes before the aircraft comes to a complete stop and notes that i damaged the aircraft and all…..how
the hell am I supposed to stop the aircraft then? Don’t real airplanes do this as well after reverse thrust? Hell they do! What am I doing wrong? It’
so annoying, please help!

is it brakes penalty or parking brake penalty?

Can you post the flight log for the flight?

I too have noticed that the parking brakes will trigger the "Welcome to our destination" message anytime they're applied after landing.
FAR's govern the use of parking brakes anytime an aircraft in excess of 85,000LBS (I believe.. could vary by quite a bit though, I just know
I have to use them ) is stopped for any given period of time while on the ground (accidentally stopping in turns for you noobs doesn't
count )

Unfortunately you'll just have to deal with the parking brake issue until there's a fix (perhaps we could press a button notifying the crew
that we've made our final stop at our destination... then again you'd have complainers about pressing YET ANOTHER button!)

Regarding reverse thrust: This has been discussed ad nauseam in the past (many times by myself). I've discussed the real world use of
it (if that's what you're aiming for), and the reasons why I have the reverse thrust penalty disabled in more_option.cfg.

Hello Dec,

for sure aircraft use brake after landing but not ->Parking brake<- to brake.
Parking brake should only be used once you come to a complete stop.

So you get this error because you don't use normal brake but parking brake
to slow you down...

It said that i applied parking brake at 15 knots and damaged my aircraft. By parking brakes you mean pressing " Ctrl + . " and by normal brakes " . " ?

And btw, what are the correct altimeter settings for take off so i don't get a penalty about that? I had 25000 and vertical speed 2500 and got penalty.

Ah, know I get it…….i must have been pressing for parking brake on the keyboard, instead of brake ( . ) before the aircraft came to a complete stop.

The altimeter is not the same as altitude and vertical speed.

The altimeter is set with the atmospheric pressure. So press "B" to get it right before take off.

I see. So the "You had the wrong altimeter setting upon departure. This can cause an accident" penalty i get has to do with that atmospheric
pressure thing, right?

Thanks mate, solved it like you said and made a very smooth flight with no penalties at all! It's one of those many errors you do when you just have
the fs2004 without this magnificent add on, without even knowing it!
