How to avoid that?

Hi all!

Yesterday, I was travelling from EGGW to UUEE with my A330-300.

It was a very smooth flight without any problems, mistakes or whatever.

But after about 2 hours of flight, there war exactly one (in letters O-N-E!) short windblast that pushed me from my 0.82 mach just a bit over the
planes maximum speed. I reacted immediately and got back to 0.82 mach in a few seconds.
But although I was penalized with -600 points because of exceeding the aircrafts max speed.

Now's my question: How can I avoid that? Do not use the normal travelling speed cannot be an option (or wouldn't make sense).
I am using ActiveSky v6 and hoped that this would eliminate such problems.

Any idea is appreciated.

I use the wind smoothing of FSUIPC (registered).

But this should be possible also via AS6: Winds and Turbulence/Wind Drift Rate (sec)

If you don't have a registered version of FSUIPC (which allows wind-smoothing), you can follow HB-100's suggestion here

Thank you for the ideas. I will try the AS6 setting and see if it works. If not, I'll change the aircraft.cfg - at least that should solve the problem.

When I take off I set the weather to real-world, 15-minute updates, but after reaching about 20,000 feet I change weather to one of the
sim's predetermined settings like "fair weather" which gives a constant for your cruise. When descending to land I switch weather back to
real-world updates.

I have also had a few instances where I have been going at a comfortable rate then suddenly get pushed over my maximum speed. Very
shitty.

You should REALLY consider spending the 15€ for FSUIPC as it's worth each and every penny

Weather smoothing is ONE aspect - a very important one - althought not the only one. The Joystick calibration is a marvy as well and may
give you a more realistic feeling

Within AS6 you can suppress wind shifts(I believe) for 250 nm if you are doing a transatlantic flight. I don't do the suppression that far
because I want those wind shifts to emulate real time wx as close as possible. And, yes, I am a registered FSUIPC user. I have noticed
that wind shifts are far more radical while using the PMDG 747 but they are not as radical while using the Level D 767. One other note...I
usually don't try to put any aircraft's cruise speed so close to the barber pole because I know that somewhere along the route a strong
wind shift will occur and cause an overspeed. I haven't had an overpeed in quite a long while
