Bit of a non issue.
It can comfortably fly with 3 engines, pilot probably could have continued.

I saw that, Did you want me to comment on it?
Yes the Boeing 737 is one of the best in its class/ type. Its a fantastic workhorse. I do not like the 747/777, just my preference. Each to their own. Now back onto the engine failure topic ![]()

Planes have failures... I prefer boeings too, but you can't say that airbus are bad because it had an engine failure. There are far too many
variables... first of all, airbus doesn't make the engine. Was the maintenance carried out properly? People make mistakes.... It could be something as simple as the fuel pump for the engine failed... that fuel pump is not made by airbus. No plane is invulnerable to any type of failure... ![]() ______________________________________ Brandon Jones Western Michigan University College of Aviation Aviation Flight Sciences Major FAA Certified Flight Instructor Cirrus SR20

I see... so this is something that should have been 2 separate threads then... one on the engine failure, and another on how you don't like Airbii...

there is nothing wrong with airbus aircraft, just like there is nothing wrong with boeing aircraft. Each manafacturer has their strong points
Airbus: a380/a330/a320 boeing: 777/737 (maybe the 787, thats if it ever flys!) besides, competition is what keeps industries competative ![]() to the o.p: its an engine failure. keywork being 'engine'. Airbus does not make the engines that are fitted to its aircraft (same as boeing); thus not airbus's problem ![]()

I'm a Boeing fan but I'm not above pointing out that the 777 has had some engine issues in the last year or so as well. It's the engine not
the airplane that failed, and then only one when the plane can probably remain airworthy on two. ![]() Charlie don't surf! |
