how do u get bird strikes

wierd, when i was flying cessna's and other small props i had a few and now when i am flying jets i havent had any, one would think
you'd have more bird strikes with jets (bigger surface area, bird can get sucked in) but i haven't had any in a jet

Ive seen birds down here at KVGT right above the runway-- I was taxing however (But another small private jet was landing-- the birds
flew away as the plane got close howver).

So, maybe birds just like being cut to bits by a small fan instead of being cut, crushed into tiny bits by hundreds of pounds of thrust,
burned and set ablaze by combusted and literaly compacted air, and shot in molecular smoking bits drowned in Jet fuel out the heated
rear-end of a jet engine at 600 miles an hour.

One problem:

Why do we get penalize after a safe landing after a emergency. Sometimes you can't help the situation (overspeed, runway runoff).

Always stay on gaurd, a bird strike could happen to you.

Having a bird strike doesn't account for your heavy landing, you stalling the aircraft, and you not squawking 7700. You can have a bird
strike, and land perfectly, as you would with two good engines.

Maybe when FSP2 comes out in FSX we might see the birds because the birds are in FSX

I had a bird strike leaving Washington(KIAD) in a Cessna Grand Caravan which killed my engine and I had to crash land on the streets of
Washington D.C.

I beleive that i read somewhere that there are already going to be birdstrikes in FSX without any addons and that they look quite spectacular. Has
anyone seen the video for FSX looks pretty cool. Too early to draw any conclusions though.

I,m sorry that wasn't KIAD when I hit the bird, it was KDCA departing to the north in a Cessna Grand Caravan and I lost my engine
because of it and had to crash land on the streets of Washington D.C.

Soon after this photo was taken the no2 oil pressure was gone.
