a321 & B757 ineffective speed brakes

I'm flying a321 and also B757 in FS9. When I apply the speed brakes, the plane's descent rate drops as expected but the application of the
speed brakes makes no difference whatever, yet it does alot within the standard a/c that come with the game.

Could anyone give me any guidance on what to look for within the Aircraft.cfg so I can address this problem, as it is affecting how I am going
about my approaches and I think that it has been a contributing factor in that I have come-in far to fast and crashed in most of my last few
approaches.

I couldn't tell you how to adjust speed brake values in the aircraft .cfg but I can tell you that I rarely have used speed brakes on descent,
and I've never used them on a stabilized approach. Seems to me you should think more ahead of the aircraft instead of allowing things to
pile up on you at the last minute. That's my humble opinion

Are you serious?? Are you keeping the mach speed dialed in throughout the descent and approach?? How about reducing the indicated
airspeed by 10 to 20 knots or more before descending. Do you have the capability of using FLCH throughout the descent so that it can
adjust attitude during the descent while maintaining a specific indicated airspeed you have chosen? On approach, are you adjusting
the "dialed in" indicated airspeed per different flap setting?

If you reduce thrust and keep the airplane level, it will slow down. If you extend the flaps, the airplane will slow down. When you're landing, you
only need enough speed to avoid stalling. You should not be going much faster than that.

You should not have to use the speed breaks until you are on the ground.
