Newbie question please if i may?

Hello all

I have just purchased this excellent add-on a couple of weeks ago now and i have not flown without it since i bought it....Bravo!
My one and only question is this...when i load up my PMDG 737 NG i do what it says in the manual and i dont have the engines running
(like in normal life i guess) when the passengers are boarding.
When i load up a flight plan and start at my airport i get the power on in the aircraft and press "start the flight" in the FSP menu...this is all
well and good so far but when i load up the aircraft i get a load sheet with all my weights etc and it allows me to enter my V Speeds
but i do not know them until i actually startup the engines and program the FMC (i do the easy option i let the weight and V speeds
actually input themselves by pressing the relevent line selct keys next to all the boxes which as im sure you all know just inputs the
speeds automatically) by which point the window allowing me to input my new V speeds has now gone due to me having pressed the
start flight/load aircraft button.

If you understand what i mean can you please tell me the correct way to do this without all the charts for the aircraft becuase i dont have
them...all i want to do is input my Vspeeds so the first officer on FSP calls them out but i find i have to press the load aircraft button first
and then when to aircraft is loaded i start the engines...if not i will let the first officer in the PMDG call me the speeds and it will be no
worries.
I love this add-on...

I don't use the PMDG but why don't you first program the FMC so that you will know the V speeds and than start the engines? As long as you have power
you should be able to use the FMC (i guess, again, i don't have the pmdg)

I believe you have to go into the 737NG payload ini file and make sure the box for the PMDG specifics (forgot what it is called) is ticked
that way it doesnt do anything I dont believe to the weights which can affect the PMDG flight characteristics. (I could be wrong but this is
what I do)

Sorry guys you are correct....I can program the FMC when powered up but i thought by the time i load up the aircraft with fuel/pax/freight
that the v speeds would be incorrect?

Thanks for all your help...maybe i was a bit vague in my initila post...i thought that yes i could input my speeds into the fmc but when i start
FSP and load it up thay would be wrong..and for some reason recntly i cannot take off without catching my tail...i have to use the trim on
my yoke to be able to take off even though i have set it up as per FMC...anyway guys thanks.

I've never had to manually set V speeds in the PMDG 737. It seems that just clicking the appropriate section (V1, VR, or V2) automatically
enters the V speeds into the computer. Does this not work for you?

Nice to meet you ...Yes this works for me too....But for some reason the last 2 flights with FSP have ended in tail strikes on takeoff and
crashes on landing which in 10yrs of simming I haven’t done that often...What I mean to say is this....

If I do this:-
1. Program the FMC when the planes is NOT loaded with pax/fuel etc
2. Then automatically populate the V Speeds as you say Brad.

Then I do this:-

1. Starup FSP
2. Load up the plane with Pax/fuel/cargo etc
3. It then shows me the load sheet and asks me to input V Speeds (I know this is optional)
4. I cannot input the same V speeds I have already in my FMC because now the planes is fully laden so they will be incorrect.

I am very frequently getting tail strikes and it has come to the point that when I take off I have to trim the Ailerons/elevators using my trim
switch on my CH Products Yoke just so I can actually leave the ground....I nearly go off the end of the runway!
I am 100% sure this is to do with the incorrect Centre of gravity.

Question:-

1. How do I actually load up FSP with any aircraft correctly so my loading and speeds are correct?

Surely someone out there has the same PMDG Aircraft and uses FSP.
But honestly it is no worry if I have to leave the V Speeds Blank and just let the PMDG Guy call em out.

This is still the BEST EVER add-on I have bought in some time.

All I do is load FSP first, and then populate the FMC. From memory the PDMG unit will populate automaticaly using the line keys. This
ensures that the FMC uses correct load/fuel weights.

That's probably because you've always overrotated but never had a program to spot the mistake and generate structural damage to your
aircraft. Welcome to the world of FsP.

Anyway, you can go into the more_option.cfg file and edit it to disable FsP weight and balance for affecting your aircraft.

Yes i can do that to but how can i then go back to the load sheet in FSP AND fill in my V Speeds so the first officer in FSP calls them out
on takeoff ...the window shuts/goes when you press load the aircraft...do you see what i mean...yes i can populate the v speeds and that
is what i have always done...

Anywa ill just let the PMDG guy call them out...i dont think anyone actually understands what i mean...thats my fault i guess...now orries

I think I understand your problem. If you really want to use FSP co-pilot voice to call out the V-speeds the workaround would be like this:

1- Start FSP flight. don't worry about the v-speeds in the load sheet.

2- Configure ou get the v-speeds from the FMC and write them down

3- Abort current FSP flight and start a new one with the exact load of pax, fuel and cargo, then use the v-speeds you wrote down before,
into the load sheet.

There you go, the FSP co-pilot now call's out the correct speeds. Yes I know, it's not very practical. But if you really want to use FSP co-
pilot that's the only way I see how.

cockpit.

If you mean after starting a FSP flight this exist already...
FsP menu "kneeboard" last tab...

(last version of FsP only)

The weights will be different...Or am i talking rubbish..dont they change in FS9?
Once you start the FSP the window goes but after reading what Dan has said they may be retreiveable.

so really i will give your ideas a go and let you know..Its no big deal but i do thank all of you guys for your help on what appears to be a
silly question to some..I just wanted the FSP First officer to do all the call outs etc not him and the PMDG first officer.

Hi Dan first of all id like to just say hello and many thanks for such a wonderfull product.
I will have another look at the menu screen and the kneeboard.
Do you understand what i am talking about Dan?
If i populate the Vspeeds and then load the aircraft the weights will be differerent/incorrect and i think this is why i am getting tail strikes
and crash landings...just a idea..im no real pilot but i have been simming now for 10+years and no way near have i had so many crash
landings in such a short space of time and only since using FSP.
I may have had 3-4 crash landing in 3 years not three weeks.
