Two things - thought I'd save space.
First, has anyone heard if there's a fix for taking FSX video with Fraps? The last time I tried, I was getting dinged for about 10 fps when
running Fraps! When I hit areas of 15 or less (even 10 is flyable for FSX), this kills ya. I want to post some FSX videos but, they'll look
stupid if I have to turn everything off just to compensate for the Fraps hit.
Second, I just read that Lee Swordy will NOT be making Afcad3 for FSX.
So far, the only option is to download this file at flightsim.com: fs92fsx.zip. Then, use it to modify an FS9 afcad. You can use afcad 2.21
with FSX through FSUIPC to move items around and then save as an FS9 afcad (provided you still have FS9 installed). Then, you can
compile the bgl into an FSX format and dump it into the FSX Addon Scenery folder.
As there have been alterations in the location of scenery, most airports will be slightly off (I read about 3 meters). This should be as easy
as loading up the AF2 and jumping into FSX in slew and using the arrow tool to move things around.
Finally, you can place points in Afcad and then take their coords (or rename them in the resulting xml file) to turn them into jetway objects.
I may work on a new texture to replace the one I made for the hama gauge, that was used to place jetway objects. Once I get the right
angle and location, I just need to adjust the jetway image on the texture and upload it. Then, you'll be able to add jetways to the afcad by
first, positioning the jetway "aircraft" over the right spot, setting it as a point (or whatever you want - ILS hold or something that you'll
recognize), then renaming it "Jetway Object" in the xml file.
Still, I'd rather have Afcad 3. Let's start lobbying Lee Swordy!
