FSP crash after drink/food service the cabin? - baoding - 03-07-2013
Hello, I'm having this weird FSP problem where whenever a cabin service is performed, FSX will CTD, throwing BEX error.
Initially I thought it has something to do with the mini panel and the buttons, so I switched to automatic service, and exact same thing happened.
After a minute or so after cabin service, FSX will crash. I have tried a flight without service, and sure enough, it did not crash.
Pretty sure it's not the menu crash, since flying without fsp or service it does not crash, period. and i do have the uiautomation.dll fix applied.
Tried reinstall, nothing. After some searching, found only about 2 other people experiencing this.
I'm running windows 8 pro 64 bit, but that should be irrelevant, as the other 2 ppl reported the issue before win8 came out. And other people managed
to use FSP on windows 8 just fine as far as i can tell...
Oh yes, playing a movie/music on the ground does NOT lead to a crash. Only drinks and food.
specs are relatively new, so shouldn't be hardware related...as it doesn't crash without performing cabin service:

Just grasping at straws since I've never heard of this problem with service. Try an experiment for us. Give your cattle a drink, wait until the
service is done if you haven't CTD'd then throw them a sandwich. If no CTD then give them a hot meal. When you have this problem are you doing drinks
and sandwich or drinks and hot meal? Whatever you normally perform try the opposite. Like I said, I'm just throwing spaghetti at the fridge.

I found that if i give any sort of service other than movie and music, and i minimize the fsx window, it crashes immediately. But if i keep fsx at
foreground, nothing happens, all is well.
I was flying feelthere's EMB 190 jet, so I went ahead and tried another flight on PMDG NGX, and guess what, no crash whatsoever. I can minimize and
service all I want. So apparently there is something in the code of the feelthere EMB 190 and fsp that cause FSX to give a BEX error whenever I
minimize the fsx window....but If i remember correctly, I tried flying that exact same plane in windows 7 with fsp and did not have an issue...
maybe it's a windows 8+plane code+fsp code thing...just a bad combination together....
anyways...i guess i'll stay away from it now...and so far so good, completed a couple of flights with no problem.
