Problems with George Bush Intercontinental (KIAH) - Proteus - 30-04-2007
Hi,
I have downloaded the Demo of FS Passengers and (among several others) started a Flight from KSFO to George Bush Intercontinental (KIAH) in Houston.
Well, after the first flight to KIAH my passengers were unhappy because I brought them to the Houston Heliport (JFKH) so I looked and found a solution
in this forum (i.e. being nearer to the center of the Airport than to the center of the helipad).
But somehow it doesn´t seem to work.
I started a second flight and really checked if my Plane was nearer to the Airport than to ther Heliport (I had to use the coordinates within the map,
as my Lago MD-80 has no way to open the GPS-Window). My plane was both, in Longitude as well as in Latitude nearer to the coordinates of KIAH than to
the coordinates of JFKH.
So I ended the flight, but my passengers still comlained that I brought them to JFKH instead of KIAH.
I even loaded another Plane (Learjet) at the Position where I had parked my MD-80 to open the GPS-Module and make absolutely sure that I was nearer to
KIAH than to JFKH.
And the GPS window told me that I was in fact 0.3 nm nearer to KIAH than to JFKH (and that KIAH was the upmost entry in the nearst airport list).
Ah yes, and it looks like I parked my Plane at Terminal A when I used the parking brake (ATC led me to another Parkinbg location, but I assume even
this spot wasn´t nearer to JFKH than to KIAH).
Ah yes and I used no Scenario for this airport, the whole airport is the one that was provided by MS for FS 2004.
(The only Addon which could have affected the airport in any way would be World Landscaoes for FS 2004 which uses a higher grained mesh for the terrain)
So it´s somehow strange, but I´m still far away from blaming my problems on George Bush :D

It could be a scenery issue as the FAQ states. At least you can still do flights without setting a destination; you don't get credit for landing at
the right airport, but you don't get a penalty for landing at the wrong one either (you have to do this a lot when flying seaplanes). Still, it does work correctly for the vast majority of airports.

Would be strange as, like I said, I didn´t use a scenery for KIAH (in fact all of the airports within USA are the original ones supplied by FS 2004, I
only altered LSZH and EDDL, which both are located in europe).
I also couldn´t see any references to fake airports and the like in the NRST-List from the GPS. The next airports aside from KIAH and JFKH seemed to
be 5 nm away (which seems to be correct according to the map)

Now this must be a first for a long time.
Someone with a problem, on there first post, have took the time to look through the forums, and when that didnt work, posted a post with all of what
was tried, what scenery addons and everything
Not the usual, it didnt work - why not - post we get.
Anyway, as said above, you can always not enter a destination when you are landing there, but that could seem a little unrealistic.
The easiest way (if you dont fly choppers) would be to remove the helipad from the fs9 database, i believe by using an afcad editing program.

Are you using payware ie simflyers kiah. I have the same problem but what i did is when i landing i turned on fsnav and watch my taxi.
When I was in the brown circle that was kiah i ended my flight and ,,,boom i was at kiah. I hate to to do it because i like to taxi. the point of
fspassenger of ending a flight at the gate. The know airports that I know of is fly tampa-ksfo, payware kiah simflyers.. I have more have to
find my list.
