Dreamwings Dash 8-400 probs - Russ - 15-01-2007
I have downloaded various payload models from this site for this aircraft, but every time I try to fly it I have problems:
e.g. I get a message that the aircraft is GROSSLY over weight with only 40 pax aboard and MIN fuel.
While loading at LOWW it CRASHED, although the engines were shut down and the parking brakes were on.
I have to admit that I'm using a "foreign" payload model. (i.e. one not dedicated to Dreamwings model) Maybe this is my problem?
The aircraft flies with no problems outside FSPax.
BTW: I've already checked FAQ and adjusted the empty weight to 36,520lbs.
Any ideas guys?

UPDATE!!!
Further to the above, I've solved it.
The aircraft config as Dreamwings has it reads:
[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]
max_gross_weight=64,500 // (pounds)
empty_weight=37,888 // (pounds)
FS9 sees this as max gross weight = 64 pounds; empty weight = 37 pounds! (because of the commas!)
It should read:
[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]
max_gross_weight=64500 // (pounds)
empty_weight=37888 // (pounds) (no commas)
There were other tweaks for the config I found at the Dreamwings forum before the model would fly properly.

Hi,
I have the same problem with the Dash from Dreamwings but do not know how to change the aircraft.cfg file in order to make it work. (If I just change
the weights as stated above the plane won't fly anymore....)
Since the dreamwings website seems to be no longer alive, there is no forum where I can find any solution.
Does anyone have a copy of the aircraft.cfg file for the Dreamwings Dash8-400 that works with FSP, which he/she could mail to me?
I'm really running out of options, I think
