Multiple Aircraft of the same type? - BingoFuel - 22-06-2006 Hi all, I tried to do a search on this but didn't find the answer I was looking for, so apologies if this has been asked before. Reading some other people's posts I get the impression that some people have fleets with multiples of the same kind of aircraft. While I know how to buy additional planes I'm unable to buy them if I already have one of that type (unless I change the livery). I've worked out that I can just rename and duplicate a livery to get an additional aircraft of the same type, but is that the way everyone does it? It seems messy to me and I can't imagine it's great for folks who have 20 737's or whatever to have 20 renamed liveries. Just to clarify, when I try and price the model of an aircraft of a type I already have in my fleet I'm told I already own the aircraft. so can't buy it. Regards, Re: Multiple Aircraft of the same type? - highlander - 22-06-2006 It's just the way FSP does it. You can have them, but you need to add seperate entries in that aircrafts' aircraft.cfg file for your different planes (pointing to the same texture folder, so it doesn't take up as much disk space). In future versions of FSP, I think it'd be cool to track your aircraft individually, so that you actually have a fleet of the same kind of aircraft in the same livery. All that *should* need to change is that FSP would track your aircraft by its' registration number, rather than by the "Title" line in the aircraft.cfg. Then, FSP would only need to prevent you from having two aircraft with the same registration number. It's a feature I requested, and I'd really hope to see it! Re: Multiple Aircraft of the same type? - poden - 22-06-2006 Yes, there are people who do it this way. Its the only way to have multiple planes of the same type. Re: Multiple Aircraft of the same type? - BingoFuel - 24-06-2006 M'okay. Thanks muchly for the info. |
