[outdated] Will not allow to fully fuel and carry All Passengers - sgtdirtybum - 02-02-2006

Hey all,

On my two favorite A/C that I usually fly with FSP (both downloads = a 757-300 and a MD-80).... FSP will never let me
fully fuel my jets and carry
all my passengers... it say's it's max over weight even with my fuel capacity at 50%... does anyone else receive this
problem too? It's frustrating
bc it is not allowing me to make most long flights.....

Thanks
SDB

This is a problem in reality, too--

I doubt you will ever find a fully loaded 747 for a 3,000 mile trip! The weight is too much for the plane to handle. So, now you must choose;
Long haul with little passengers, or short haul with alot of passengers.

Business--- so hard :p

prolly something to do with the weights being wrong. You should be able to adjust the weights in the aircraft.cfg file. Use the weights off
Airliners.net.

What about Cargo? Are you carrying any?

Yes! Because of this post i finally figured out what prolly means lol

Re: Will not allow to fully fuel and carry All Passengers - sgtdirtybum - 02-02-2006

Actually I can understand the balance between short/long hauls vs amount of passengers, but I thought I could atleast load up 81% of my passenger load
with full capacity of fuel, but I still cannot.... and no..... unfortunately I can not carry any cargo when I load all my passengers (which shows
it's only 81% of my capacity for passengers...)... and still I can only fill tanks up to 51%??? somehow I still dont feel that this should be real
world quandry...... but..... mabye... huh?

Re: Will not allow to fully fuel and carry All Passengers - jetBlue220 - 03-02-2006

My 757-300 is a Posky plane, and I found out that the weights were off by a lot. Just look at airliners.net, and go to the aircraft.cfg file and edit
them accordingly...It'll be able to load perfectly now.

If you copy/paste your aircraft.cfg here, we'll be able to correct it for you! Smile

thanks jetblue... i'll try that....... gracias Beer

No problem. Smile

I've had a few issues with the weights since getting FSP, and each time when I check them online, they're always off by some major number. I just
don't understand it, lol. Rolleyes

Most often this is because the developer of the plane model sets it's empty weight to the already loaded weight.
This way, you will newer fly empty aircraft in FS, like most of users would do if they it was set correct.

Re: Will not allow to fully fuel and carry All Passengers - burkino_026 - 03-02-2006

the solution is to always edit your aircraft.cfg to your preferences. As real airlines do custom your airplane with weights to simulate more seats,
less seats, more facilities, less facilities. Set the station load to the ones you need, customise the payload in FsP, set fuel efficiency and engine
parameters to the variants you choose.... All of these, is not cheating but customising the plane to the needs of your VA!!!!!! Just keep those
settings within limits and possibilities of the aicraft

Re: Will not allow to fully fuel and carry All Passengers - SaVas - 03-02-2006

From Airliners.net:

757-300
Weights

Operating empty with RB-211s 64,590kg (142,400lb),
with PW-2043s 64,460kg (142,110lb),
max takeoff 122,470kg (270,000lb).

MD80 series
MD-81 - Operating empty 35,329kg (77,888lb),
max takeoff 63,505kg (140,000lb), or 67,810kg (149,500lb) with JT8D-217As.
MD-88 - Operating empty 35,369kg (77,976lb), max takeoff 67,810kg (149,500lb).

Now look in your aircraft.cfg file for the weights and adjust them accordingly. Chances are they are a bit off as others have stated.
