Economic mode question - Zatnikitelman - 25-07-2005

Why can I only buy one aircraft at a time. On the company setup screen, it suggested that I buy a couple of airplanes to simulate income
generation by more than me. How do I do this?

I think you can purchase more than one. You've just got to have the funds available.

I have over 299 mil in funds. It says I already own the craft even though I bought another. Same type granted, but not the same craft.

Does it have the same name in the first line of the "aircraft.x" section of aircraft.cfg?

I'm not sure what FSPassengers uses to determine which aircraft you have and haven't bought, but that problem has caught me out many times trying to
set up AI schedules? Might be worth checking.

Cheers,

Ian P.

It uses the title field. So you can't buy the exact same plane twice even if you change the reg. number in FS. What you would have to do to
buy say the Landmark 737 multiple times is go into the aircraft.cfg and add a new one with the same livery and change the title to
something slightly different ie Landmark1 or whatever. I'm currently up to 14 aircraft, some are variations on the same model, others are
completely different aircraft. Next step for us is a couple of golden oldies (Gullwing and Staggerwing) with which to do pleasure flights at
airshows (and of course earn money in between)

But you definately can use multiple craft to simulate other flights by other pilots?

Actually, my company owns just one plane, and I still get a "fleet" credit. I think all you have to do is check economic mode when you set up your company, and you get the fleet credit regardless of whether you've bought extra planes or not. Unless of course its a bug and is just giving you income you shouldn't be getting. I think you are supposed to get more income if you own more planes though.

You do, I started out with less and earned less. Now I have 14 planes and can easily earn excess of 100K on a flight if it's near perfect.
