Install prob HELP!! - LukeJGerst - 08-07-2005 I downloaded the trial version for personal testing reasons, installed the program, and started FS. The opening screen came up and another window came up that said: Fspassengers BAD error! There is a folder in Modules that is named FSpassengers.dll, close Flight Simulator and delete it before you restart Flight Simulator. Fspassengers will now open the Module folder for you. ![]() file and closed down Flight Simulator. Then I restarted Flight Simulator and started a flight. The FSP menu didn't appear on the menu bar! I figured that this was because I deleted the file, so I restored it and restarted the entire computer. It still didn't show up in the bar, even though I had installed the program and I could open some options from the Start menu. What do I do? I'm running a Win98 offline from the web. Re: Install prob HELP!! - pagir - 08-07-2005 Maybe you should uninstall all and install it all over again. Check if the unistall proceed well: All the files are in the FSpassenger folder except for "fspassengers.dll" which is the the modules folder of FS9. None of those files should remain after uninstall. hope it help... Pagir Re: Install prob HELP!! - DanSteph - 08-07-2005 this should happen if you have two FsPassengers DLL do you have the full error message ? else as said pagir try to uninstall/reinstall fresh... Text: BAD ERROR you have a renamed copy of FsPassengers.dll on Modules folder that is named FSPASSENGERS.DLL. FsP will now shut doan this bad instance. Please exit now Fs2004 and delete this wrond DLL from Modules folder before relaunching Fs2004. FsP will now open for you the Modules folder. I looked in the Modules folder and there was no FSPASSENGERS.DLL! There was only FsPassengers.dll! Now that we have the problem, what's the answer? ![]() Re: Install prob HELP!! - LukeJGerst - 09-07-2005 Eh? Moving on to the other threads now, trying to get rid of personal impatience! ![]() Re: Install prob HELP!! - pagir - 09-07-2005 Other than capitalization, I can't see the difference between your two fspassengers.dll. Delete it and delete any module related to Fspassengers and delete the "Fspassengers folder" manually. check again in modules. Nothing should be related to FsPassengers. Try a brand new install.. Just to be sure, try to install a fresh copy of FsPassengers (i.e. download it again) GOOOD luck! pagir Post Edited ( 07-09-05 06:07 ) Re: Install prob HELP!! - LukeJGerst - 09-07-2005 Thanks, I'll check that out. I dound out another friend of mine at Livewire has got the same problem, when we come up with a solution I'll let him know. Re: Install prob HELP!! - Deacon - 09-07-2005 Make sure you have a FOLDER called FsPassengers in the FS0 directory, in which are various folders and files (the referenceed files of the .dll). Make sure you DON'T find this folder as a sub-folder of the Modules directory. THEN, within the Modules directory, remove any file whose first three letters or three letters "anywhere" in the filename EXCEPT for your one file, FsPassengers.dll (spelling makes no difference, but that's the correct spelling of the .dll), which should remain in the Modules folder. That's the correct setup. Ensure it works. If not, report back and we'll get into more specifics in trying to resolve the issue. Thanks, Re: Install prob HELP!! - LukeJGerst - 10-07-2005 I don't think I understand what you mean by three letters? Re: Install prob HELP!! - DanSteph - 10-07-2005 I'll soon update a patch for win98 user.... stay in touch.... Dan |
