List of common planes available by rank? - Gibbmusic - 14-07-2005

It would be great if somebody could make an extensive list of airplanes that are available for you to fly by rank...i.e. make a list of planes
that fit into the specific weight and engine catagories. I know there are thousands of planes available out there but a list of the most
commons ones would be great...for example what I am looking for:

C0-C2 (Single Engine Prop less than 3306 lbs):
Cessna 172
Cirrus SR20
Mooney Bravo
etc.

C3 (Multi Engine Prop less than 5511 lbs):
Cessna 208 Caravan
Baron 58
etc.

C4 (Prop and Turboprop less than 26455 lbs):
DC-3
King Air 350
etc.

C5 (Any aircraft type less than 44092 lbs):
Dornier 328
Citation X
etc.

I may have something wrong on this list, but that's why I'm asking somebody to come up with a good one!

Thanks to anybody who does this.

I guess I'm the only one interested...I'll have to make it myself.

No your not the only one interested, maybe ppl are working on it. Plus unless anybody has managed to do like 800 hours in a week it's
gonna take longer than that to find them all out. Still, here's a couple more on the bottom rank I know about:

C0 - c2

Beech A36 Bonanza
Cessna Cardinal
Cessna 172 (all variants)
Piper Warrior
Piper Tomahawk
Piper Cub & Super Cub
Beech Staggerwing (yep I had one on the fleet before I reset my airline)

c3 (educated guess, I've no pilots that rank yet)

Cessna 310
Cessna 421
Cessna 441
Cessna 337
Piper Seneca
Piper Navajo
Pilatus PC6 Porter
Pilatus PC12
DeHavilland Dragon Rapide

So far off the top of my head that's all I can think of. If I think of any more I'll post 'em.

I'll start putting these in a nice pretty word document and maybe we can upload it and make it available to all. I will be out of town for the
weekend, but if people will start adding planes they know about to this list, I'll be happy to compile them all into one big list when I get
back.

Do you know if FSP bases whether or not you can buy the plane by it's empty weight or the current weight of whatever aircraft you have
selected? For example, since FS9 defaults to a full load of fuel, does FSP consider that fuel part of the planes weight when determining
whether or not you have the qualification to buy it? This is probably a question for Dan.

Re: List of common planes available by rank? - Barthalo - 15-07-2005

Although I'm not at home and so have no list in front of me, I knew some planes as well.
At first I have to say that John's guess is not totally right because as a c3 pilot you are not allowed to fly any turboengine aircrafts - so the
Porter cannot be flown as a c3 pilot.
So here are some more to add to the list:

c0-c2:
Aerosoft DH2 wheel, tundra wheel and ski version -I do not know if the float version can be flown as well but I am sure the amphibian
version is to heavy, so you have to wait until c3
Maule ( all versions)
Diamond Katana ( although there is not much space for passengers )

c3:
Britten-Norman BN2 (all Versions including the triple engine one - I think the largest plane for this pilot class)
Aerosoft DH2 amphibian

Well as soon as I have more time to fly and find new birds I will give the news to you

If you guys can give me the weights of the planes that you list (if you can find them), that would save me a lot of searching. I now have
more than 30 planes listed through the C5 ranking. Keep em coming, it's going to be very helpful to us all.

Won't know the weights till I get home tonight. I got a book indoors actually lists a lot of details for the planes as well. #Pax, crew weight
etc.

Re: List of common planes available by rank? - Gibbmusic - 15-07-2005

Okay, I have started the document file but instead of posting it all on here, I have it hosted at another site. You can go to
http://gibbmusic.freeservers.com/ and download the .doc file. Please email me or let me know on here what additions or fixes need
to be made. I'll keep it continually updated until we get a nice long list, then I'll upload it here.

Sorry about the ads and pop-ups, I'm not paying for webspace so I had to go with the free stuff.

Re: List of common planes available by rank? - Barthalo - 15-07-2005

It's a very useful list, thanks a lot. As soon as I find some new to add I post it here.
And just as I were to the send button i recalled a further plane just tested this morning:

Usable as a c3 pilot: Antonov An-14 "Little Bee" (tried the tradewind version)

Re: List of common planes available by rank? - jboweruk - 15-07-2005

Ooh, me can see me gotta long way to go to get in my precious 747.

Another plane that's missing from the list is the dear old Twin Otter. I think that's in the c4 category.

Re: List of common planes available by rank? - Gibbmusic - 16-07-2005

I added the suggestions here as well as a LOT of other planes today. The list is now up to 83+ planes (83 doesn't count the multiple
versions of each plane). You can download the updated file here: http://gibbmusic.freeservers.com/.

My next mission after my vacation will be to add another column with the number of PAX each plane can carry.

Re: List of common planes available by rank? - Gibbmusic - 18-07-2005

Greetings from New York City. I have a request of anybody who is interested in completing this list. Can you please download it and
update the PAX section for each plane that you know? You can email the updated file and I'm going to try to upload a completed list to
Dan sometime in the middle of the week.

Thanks,
Gibbmusic
