WARNING !!!! the picture below show the first project drawing a way for me to guess
what control I'll put on this dialog IT'S NOT FINISHED IN ANY WAY IT MAY LOOK
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN FINAL....

This dialog will clear my idea of how I'll do things, then I'll start to make
the calculus function that I'll need , than I'll redo this dialog... (it's my common way of work)
So with this dialog you'll fix your company's price politic, it will determine
how your reputation and income will evolve and so how much passengers will take your flight
- in economicall mode -
You'll be able to choose preset (low cost company -normal company - luxe company etc etc)
or set directly the prices...

An example - if you set high ticket price and high service price (drink etc etc) your passengers
will be disatisfied. With high price ticket the service must be free (but of course it will cost you money)
You will be able to have many financial politics for exemple you can lose money
during a time to raise your reputation (low ticket price, free service, high cleaning cost)
Or get the maximum cash if your reputation is high (high ticket, high service price low cost cleaning)
but in this case your reputation will quicly degrade...
in all things balance

Absolutley amazing !!!
This looks great!
I like all the idea's you put so far into this ...
However , the ticket price should reflect actual flight's, a short 1 hour flight should cost much less than a trans atlantic one ...
How are you going to implement this if at all ?
Are the prices set before each flight ? or is it something you change once a month ?
Nevertheless , it look superb !!

Simple, in fact you set the price for a fixed distance (1000km) because it's more clear than "price per kilometer"
then the price is computed based on this number
example:
you set the price to 500$ (for 1000 km)
if you make a 500km trip you will receive 250$
2000km=1000$
notice it's logarythmique 10'000km don't make 5000$ but 1.50*rate maximum
(not sure it's the exact number I must look the code)

You set it when you want before each flight or one time each 100 flight, your choice.

Thanks a lot for the info Dan , now it's much clearer ...
I was also thinking maybe you can have a welcome screen that is more typical for a specific airline ... so for instance if you choose to
build a company like "Delta Airlines" the welcome screen shold have the Delta colors , and the logo will be displayed , just to add
more "atmosphere" to your virtual company ... I know it invloves graphics , but it can add a lot to the feel of the product.
Just my opinion.

mhhh interesting... you mean when we go into the company manager
we have a splash screen that come with a big logo ?
because you can already tune the small logo that appear in most company dialog....
and I see two problem:
-might be annoying to have always the splash screen when you enter the "company manager"
-Only a few people will bother to make a "big" jpg for their company and...I can't provide all
the major airline splash screen there is to much of them.

Anyway, the main problem is you can't include commercial and trademarks logos and/or names in a commercial product without prior
authorization from their respective owners.
Or it can be made user-customizable in a second time.
Yes you'll tell there are plenty of add-on products that do feature at least one airline or aircraft manufacturer logo, but they don't have the
right to do so if they didn't get the written authorization from the company..

Ok , so if you can just make it open ended for the user to add such logo's it would be great.

In case of crash, your insurance pay, in case of hard failure also but only if it's not your fault

You can already add custom logo for company and pilot that will be displayed
in somes dialogs... just matter to make a jpg image with the same name than your company
or pilot and put it in the "logo" directory.... simple.

As said seb I'll not be able to make real world logo to be bundled with FSP
but I bet there might be somes available for download later done by peoples.
the jpg image must be exactly 181x44 pixels in jpg.. no other constraints no *.ini file
to edit, just name it the same than your pilot or company and copy it
in the "logo" directory.

WARNING BORING INTERNAL EXPLAINATION OF FSP.... only for peoples intterested
WARNING THIS IS IN "ECONOMIC MODE" ONLY ---- "FREE FLIGHT MODE" DOESN'T HAVE THIS BELOW
Those warning said, here we go
The calculus for ticket price and various calculus are going very well... there is a
lot of variable involved and it's very intteresting to do. I'm very carreful to make it
look realistic.
So the number of passengers that want to board your plane depend of your company's reputation,
the numbers of flights made by your company on one airport (regular flights mean more passengers)
and the tickets price... (they have an intimate feeling of what is a right, cheap or expensive price
that depend of their class. (VIP, ECO etc etc)
You'll have to make real choice for your company.
I use excell to test my calculus and make somes simulation to see what the results look like
below I have made a test to see the number of peoples that will board your plane and the income
you will get based on various price tickets.
The graph show a simulation of my calculus for a base of 200 passengers in economic class
with a fixed company reputation (65%) and number of flights (2) on this airport... only the ticket price change.
!!! EXCELL SCREENSHOTS !!! NOT FSP (sorry to yell but somes peoples seem to read a bit too fast
So I'm feared to receive somes mail "We have to use excell to fly FsP ?"

This graph show that there is an "optimal" income for a ticket's price.. to cheap or too expensive
and your income drop... but sometime you may want to sacrify a bit the income to raise
your company's reputation faster.
This part is almost finished in FsP, the "end flight" that I'll do now is even more complicated,
here I will calculate how one flight should modify the reputation of your company , it's based
on a lot of variables.

so in economicall mode when you start a FsP flight you have this advice that come first:

if it annoy you, you can check "don't show... next time" so next time you'll go directly
to the payload dialog that allow you to load your aircraft. (a new text here indicate
how many passengers are waiting at gate )

Neat things: the boarding is calculated "per class" if you set very expensive tickets price
for 1st class but very cheap for business you may have a full business class and an
empty 1st class.
FsP anyway will NOT simulate what's exactly inside the passengers's lugage...

One question. Is it implemented that for example in a flight, you have 200 seats.. and you sell 210 tickets for that flight. So there are 10
possible people that if everyone comes to the plane are going to stay on airport, so you have the pay them back their fee.
Well In Europe there is a new law that, if that happens to me, the company have to pay me up to 300 euros in compensation, at the
moment (in the airport). Then find me a way (and pay) to travel to my destiny (in the company or others.. or by car, train, bus..etc). If I need
a Hotel, food, telephone, pay also.
Is overboarding the name?
Also.. is implemented the paids to the staff of your company? (pilots, people on ground, etc..)
The fees that have to pay to land in the airports (more important.. more money)
Money to pay publicity of your company in Tv, Newspapers..etc..
and I don't know where more to pay...
Well of course these are ideas. If they are implemented.. superb!!!!! if not... no problem at all.. I will continue buying it.
