Airport Directory with runways? - GodSmack78 - 08-11-2006 Im still new to the Flight Simulator game, in many ways. I was curious if anyone knew of a downloadable "book" that can be pulled up in game that has runway numbers ect for destinations? Nothing like a "Sim" flight when the best thing I can do is pick a spot and drop'er! Thanks! Re: Airport Directory with runways? - DBE - 08-11-2006 Check out the Great Circle Mapper ==> http://gc.kls2.com/ It's not what you'd call a "book", but it should provide you with the kind of info you're looking for. Re: Airport Directory with runways? - GodSmack78 - 08-11-2006 Thanks again for your help! Book, .Doc....Not sure what I was looking for. Something to help me out lol. NOW, if I can figure out the lingo, I'll be ok! Thanks! Re: Airport Directory with runways? - DBE - 08-11-2006 Pretty straight-forward. Use the plan field to enter the ICAO code of your departure and arrival airports (i.e. KJFK-LSZH). If you don't know the ICAO code for an airport, simply enter a town or the airport's name in the search field and it'll come up with a list. By clicking on an airport's link, you'll be provided with various info about it. Re: Airport Directory with runways? - Ceemosp - 08-11-2006 After you planned your flight you will need some charts and approach plates to actually do an approach, You may want to look here --> http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=14003&pid=125880#pid125880 for charts and here --> http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16333 for some "how to's" ![]() Greetz Carsten Re: Airport Directory with runways? - lightrail - 09-11-2006 I fly mainly in Canada and I use the Canada Flight Supplement. This covers every airport in Canada, runways, taxiways, frequencies, etc. I'm sure most countries and areas have them. I bought mine from a flying school - or if you have a pilot friend, get an out of date one from her or him. |
