ATPL Theory Preperation - Sam Breese - 12-01-2010 Is anyone here doing or completed there ATPL theory? I'm starting at Oxford in 2 weeks time, is there anything I can do between then and now apart from brushing up on all my PPL books which I've done? Quite possibly the worst time ever to start with integrated training but I'm hoping a few years down the line the industry will be on the road to recovery. It sounds like a better alternative to university anyway. Re: ATPL Theory Preperation - Joeflyer - 14-01-2010 Good luck, Sam. I applaud your efforts. Are you in the US or Europe? Re: ATPL Theory Preperation - whiskey-zulu - 14-01-2010 Sounds like the UK there Joe ![]() Re: ATPL Theory Preperation - gbapache - 14-01-2010 It could be Oxford, Mississippi. ![]() Re: ATPL Theory Preperation - Recon - 14-01-2010 Didn't know there was one in Mississippi ![]() Anyway,....Sam I wish you the best of luck. Post Edited ( 01-14-10 21:57 ) Re: ATPL Theory Preperation - whiskey-zulu - 14-01-2010 Any good teacher should be able to give some ideas as to what to expect, so it may be worth contacting the training advisor at the airfiled: http://www.oxfordairport.co.uk/contact/oatcontacts.htm There's also the links from the Oxford Air Academy website that may be of use: http://www.oaa.com/ Re: ATPL Theory Preperation - Sam Breese - 17-01-2010 Thank you everyone with all their wishes. It just goes to show.............. I started using flight sim five years ago aged 14, purchased FsPassengers two years after, did my PPL with IMC and night and now I've been given the opportunity to do this it all for real. It's amazing how such a product can aid and influence your chosen career path. Yes it's Oxford Aviation Academy in England. After thoroughly researching the many flight schools in the UK OAA came out top trumps for me. Though slightly more expensive then alternate schools they have an excellent record for passing out skilled pilots and the airlines look favourably to OAA students upon graduation. I'm sure I'll let you all know how I'm getting on, especially when I get to some bummer questions on the course. All the best, and keep on flying!! Sim or for real!
